Fixed it: had to clear cookies. I had just updated WordPress and WooCommerce — maybe cookie data is being managed differently in the new versions or something? At any rate that did it.

I tried a different web browser first (Safari instead of Chrome) and it worked fine. Went back to Chrome, cleared cookies, and that worked too.

Unfortunately for me, I have the page set as “homepage” template, I have it set to be the front page, but Parallax Hero does not show up in the customizer. I’ll keep playing with it or else just not use it. Thank you for your time.

Follow-up: Okay, I think I see how to do what I want, mostly.

I attach USPS to my shipping zone, and then I enable certain methods, and I add a discount to those methods. My customers end up getting charged .25 or thereabouts for what used to be free shipping.

But that’s not too bad a solution so that I can print labels for media mail WITHOUT needing my own stamps.com account.

Media Mail is a tough thing. Automated postage computers at post offices don’t let you pick it. Most electronic “lists of packing choices” will not include media mail. But for those of us sending books, it’s often the best option!

Anyway, I do appreciate all the work going into this free plugin. Thank you.

A problem with this is that I don’t WANT to charge my customers the full price of shipping. I want them to pay the rate I have listed, and then I will pick either media mail or first class depending on how far away the destination is.

But with this set up, I can only choose media mail/first class if I set up a zone for THEM to select.

I don’t want them to select. I want to select once they’ve ordered.

Worked on Chrome.

I think— I THINK — I was just hitting “buy” twice.

You click BUY
Then the buy button turns into a spinning circle
THEN it BRIEFLY turns back into the BUY button
and THEN the label pops up.

I think in my impatience I was clicking the button a second time when it briefly turned back into BUY!

USER ERROR.

@georginas I’ll try Chrome though I seem to have to clear cookies before I use Chrome each time.

@nabsul There are two items in the order but only one is physical. The other is a virtual, downloadable item.

I’m having the same issue. I see the email and customer name on my Amazon Seller page — but that information is not captured in WooCommerce. I’ve been manually cutting and pasting the email address from the Amazon Seller page, and then telling WooCommerce to re-send the completed order emails.

On my next order, I could not reproduce this error. It went through with all plugins activated. I’ll test more fully if the error occurs and I can reproduce. Thank you again for being so responsive and great.

When I deactivated all plugins (except for Woocommerce, jetpack, and woocommerce services) — it worked.

So some plugin is causing a problem. I’ll have to narrow it down with further tests. Thank you!

I’ve changed the wordpress.com account which my jetpack is connect to. maybe that’s done something?

I tried this in Safari and Chrome. Same error.

This was it.

I have two accounts on wordpress.com — and I think there was confusion over which one I was using to connect Jetpack with. So I fixed that.

Then I cleared cookies and reloaded my site. The label creation went fine!

I updated the Services plugin to 1.4

Activated Twenty Sixteen.
Disabled all plugins except WooCommerce, WooCommerce Services and Jetpack (which Services required).

Different error in chrome. When I try to make a label I get a popup that says “There was a problem saving your settings. Please try again after the page is reloaded.”

Safari works fine.

I’m sure it’s something local to my environment. As long as Safari works, that’s fine with me. Thank you for your response!

I went back and tried half an hour later and it… worked? So never mind. The rates are populating the drop-down and it seems to be fine.
