Never particularly fond of black backgrounds myself, in this caase though it seems to work, and very nicely at that. Nice job. Valid CSS and (X)HTML, too.

Okay in IE6.0. The cream colored containers, “Research Forums” and “Main Forums” break right in Firefox(nightly), and Opera7.5.1.
Trimming the width of #rmenu from 125 to 120px brought them back into the container for me; however, this is only a quick fix– needs more serious consideration. I hope all those research people have magnifying glasses, because them they will need them when viewing the site in IE. The font-size for both the left & right columns is painfully small. And since it’s set in pixels, it ain’t gonna
zoom in Internet Explorer.

Here you go. Beautiful it ain’t, but most of the hooks are in place. You’ll need a gif image the same width as the menu for it to look right.
Quick test tested 800 x 600 on XP_ie6.0, Opera7.5.1, and FF( nightly).

Okay. Opera and IE get it the way you intended. FF renders the menu overlapping, and extending below p credit.

Cool. Valid (X)HTML/CSS. The only thing I noticed after a very cursory look, and only in FF(nightly) at 800 x 600, is that p credit does not clear.

As mentioned when I provided a fast and dirty fix for your last problem, the layout you are using is *not structurally sound*. You will continue to have a never ending list of problems– you have put something on the Web that’s built on sand.
Give it up. Use the wp-default layout, one of Root’s layouts, or any number of others that are available. You’ll find things will work much better. When, and if, problems occur they will be easy to remedy quickly and efficiently.
