In reply to: Here’e my new one.Hmm, Edward Hopper’s 1942 painting of inner-city loneliness with ‘Nighthawks’, portrays a sparsely filled caf?? on a deserted New York street, the eerie solitude is evoked in true Hopper style.

In reply to: Constructive CriticismAlmost got it– still some obvious but minor styling and color tweaking yet to do. Any major problems would be easiest to resolve now (before switching over to php).

In reply to: Constructive CriticismCouple of shooters of that top shelf sour-mash, and I could conquer the world, and maybe even get this to work in IE:

(actually only needs some minor adjustments, but its been a long day)
Could be done as fixed width layout, too…
What’s your opinion?Forum: Themes and Templates
In reply to: Constructive CriticismI give up, what’s a “JD.” In my neck of the woods, “JD” is a Juvenile Delinquent– a teenage hood.
The Opera/Win *clearer* problem has been resolved. Whether this solution works for IE5/mac is unknown.
This remains among the least of my problems: Gecko browsers– giant space between “Filled Under” and “General”
Need criteria for the Root Vegetable CSS Garden.

In reply to: Constructive Criticism“Desparado” on board this address:

Known issues:
1) Opera7x bug– clearer div does not collapse vertically.
2) Gecko browsers– giant space between “Filled Under” and “General”
Working on another version that is quite simple, and does not violate the integrity of your original code; and another that is sort of off the wall…

In reply to: Constructive CriticismPretty much decided to do just that just before reading your note about it. It’s a done deal. Thanks.

In reply to: Constructive CriticismHmmm, I see what you mean…my layout looks awful at height: auto– back to the drawing board. Also think I need to play around with an alternate style. Nobody is going to wait around while all my pretty images load when on a dial-up modum.
Thanks.

In reply to: Constructive CriticismAdded a footer of sorts. Not sure whether to leave , delete , or modify the border and background color beneath the menu. Also need to figure out why the painting (with the border around it) winds up in left field on this page:

Unable to get rid of the extra space between the category blogroll and Rebecca…particularly obvious on IE.
Getting a little punchy looking at this thing– comments & suggestions from a fresh perspective appreciated.

In reply to: Constructive CriticismThere’s nothing sad about going round and round. Most people call it learning.
Oh, and I assume you’re referring to Tantek ??elik’s Box Model Hack?

In reply to: Constructive CriticismI was having a bad IE5/5.5 day earlier this morning. It is predictably centering just fine *without using* the box model hack. There is a 17px vertical drop between the header and the content on IE5 personally I think this can ride as is). IE5.5 rendering same as 6.0. IE/Mac5.2 seems okay– same for AOL7.
Header centers, container holding content/menu breaks right, appearing to hug right viewport on Konqueror. While this could probably be fixed by anchoring it to the header, I’m not so sure it’s really worth the effort?
On the menu (all browers) there is added vertical space between the category Blogroll and the first link– Rebecca’s Pocket. Particularly obvious on IE6. Deleting the category and links, and then replacing them does not seem to help. Any suggestions?
continuing when I get back. Either way, thanks ever so much…

In reply to: Constructive CriticismTurns out not to be a problem with the code. Wound up stripping everything, and found an error on the source file. Needs to be tweaked, but after a cursory look is now rendering on IE, Moz, My Lady FF, and Opera. Predictably hugging the left viewport on IE5/5.5. without the box model hack to center it.
I will be away from 7a, Tues,. July 6 until 8p, Fri., July9th.
If I haven’t driven you completly nuts by now, I’d appreciate continuing when I get back. Either way, thanks ever so much…

In reply to: Constructive CriticismNo, she doesn’t like the fresh set of files either– must be something in the code. I’ll tinker with it…

In reply to: Constructive CriticismMade a couple of mark-up changes. It’s now working on XP_IE6.0, Moz1.6, and Opera7.5.1. *FF0.9 is the problem*– menu breaks right…
I’ll try a new set of files…
