    Thanks for the reply.

Unfortunately, I don’t think I have administrator privileges. I don’t see anything about plug-ins or caches or themes. I will have to ask the owners of this business if they have access to the admin account. I believe they have severed ties with the person who set this up.

    “Do you have administrator rights?”

Probably not, but doon’t know how to tell.

“It really is necessary to keep your WordPress version up-to-date.”

Don’t most web hosting providers (e.g. Dreamhost) control what version of software like WordPress is on the system?

“No, not under Tools. The last menu item should be Settings, and the first page is General – that’s where date/time/language stuff is.”

I was saying Settings should be sitting in the menu right below Tools.

    Tools
    Settings

There is no Settings on that left-side menu anywhere.

“Theme stuff is under Appearance. Plugins is under Plugins!”

Are they entries on the left-side menu? If so, they are not there.

I probably am not administrator and whoever was the administrator is no longer associated with the business. The owners don’t even know who hosts their website, which I guess could be WordPress.com

I saw on an instruction page where Settings is supposed to be. On the left-side menu under Tools. Unfortunately, I don’t have it. Is Settings where you would change Themes and install plugins?
