In reply to: Please help with comments!I thank you for your time again on this.
I have disabled all plugins as well as disabling my added CSS code and restored all Platform’s default settings leaving a bare unaltered Platform theme, but still to no effect; no comments, only “#comments” in the URL. If I activate any of the other themes, commenting works. Re-enable Platform and no more commenting.
I see that it is theme-specific and me-specific as you say it works for you, but I won’t be getting any help from Pagelines. Do you have any other suggestions of what I might try? (please don’t just say, “another theme”)Forum: Fixing WordPress

Well, yes, it would appear to be a theme problem. I am using PageLines Platform – free version, sorry to say, as they offer no help unless one pays them $100 and are rather opaque with their theme files. I cannot find anything regarding this commenting issue with Platform elsewhere however, seeming to indicate it is an isolated issue with my set-up. There is no Platform specific settings regarding commenting, so where else do I look to resolve a commenting issue like this?Forum: Fixing WordPress

Gravatar works seamlessly with your WordPress.com account. Just log in with your WordPress.com username and password.
This is what I do and this is what does not work.

Forum: Themes and Templates
In reply to: Platform Theme Framework Feedback“AR” seems to not be around for the last 5 months, so this is a shot in the dark or to anyone who might know:
I’m quite new at this but a fast learner and have been enjoying the free version of Platform until I got to the point where I wanted to enter into some customization that Platform doesn’t offer in the core structure, so I began educating myself about Child Themes(and templates) in WP. However, Platform Free doesn’t seem to have the structure referred to in the WP Child Theme “How to” documentation (and elsewhere). It appears that, for example, functions.php, and page.php and other files from within the Platform theme folder refer to code embedded somewhere else less discoverable (undiscoverable?)and therefor not available to the “cut, paste and modify” style of Child Theme creation.
The only reference I can find here to Child Themes with Platform seem to refer to a “Base.css” file available (apparently) only with the $100 version of Platform and a response to the question of creating Child Themes in the free version of,You sure can, the only thing is you have to create your own.
. Meaning…?
Meaning create your own from scratch? Meaning no code available from those aforementioned files from which to build upon? Surely not. That wouldn’t be a child theme. It would just be building your own theme. Yes?
Please correct me if I’m wrong and point me to documentation that leads one through the process of child theme creation in Platform free such as WP has for the same in other, more open-face themes.
