ok – something very strange is happening….

1. i temporarily renamed the wordpress folder
2. i placed ‘website maintenance’ page instead as index.html
3. but somehow renamed wordpress shows up in all of my browser

this never happened before. is my server remembering my previous setting? do servers have cache like browsers?

anyway thx for the help. i’m gonna put the website down. and trouble shoot again tomorrow.

so it’s hacked? i have a clean backup. should i nuke this one replace with a clean backup?

I want to buy the theme they use. exactly like they have it. but looks like they modified the theme or made the theme on their own. i don’t want to do that…

yes i tried. got a same message. tried extension still get a same message…

will that extension fix the problem? i don’t want it to be fixed though. i want to make sure it doesn’t happen to other viewers.

i’m just concerned if this happens with others. website is just launched. i called godaddy and they couldn’t find an issue either.

no. i’m not using that plugin. i do have cache plugins. i’ll try deactivating all the plugins later.

cookies & cache all cleared too. very strange. only happens with mac

found the problem! it was php. php was set at 7.1

i reverted back to 5.4 and it works!
