Ok, I found the solution in a blog. For some reason this WORKS:

“Download your wp-config.php and add this line of code at the bottom of the file before the “require_once” line.

define(‘CONCATENATE_SCRIPTS’, false );”

But the strange thing is: why it solved my problem, but it ALWAYS worked on my colleage’s computer. Anyway, it works now. One Of Those Things 8(

Creating a new user won’t solve anything, either. I know it sounds like there’s a firewall somewhere, but I never installed one. I’ll check my router just in case something was activated somehow…

No firewall, no AV software, and javascript is not disabled (Our main page works and it also uses jQuery: https://www.playmedusa.com) A second computer at home won’t show the editor either, but my friend’s does.

Could it be related to my user?

Sorry for talking to myself like this… I’m just trying to find what’s wrong.

I’ve discovered that the visual editor doesn’t work in my computer… but it does work in a different one!! I’ve tried cleaning my cache, my cookies and everything I’m able to clean. But I just can’t use the visual editor. Not only in Safari: chrome and firefox won’t work, either.

Ok, I tried a complete wordpress reinstall, removing everything from our previous installation (but the old database). I checked that the new blog (empty) was working properly, and then changed wp-config.php so the new blog used the old database.

And the same problem: the visual editor is still broken. So the problem seems related to the database… any clue?

Great, my host charges me 30€ for recovering an old version.

I’ll try using an external editor. These things are disgusting ?? (and I’m stupid for not backup up my files before the update)

I’ve just reinstalled wordpress, a complete fresh installation (removing my previous blog) and the problem persists. I’ll contact my host just in case ??

Thanks. I’ve tried all that but the manual upgrade. Would an automatic reinstall be the same, or doing it manually is crucial?
