    I am still trying to get this to work. Your comment has been very useful.

    I am using the Twenty Ten theme. I have Contact Form 7 in the main widget. I thought it all worked fine at first, but I have made changes since and all the text disappeared, so I have tried different things.

    By use of html, I now have all the text appearing except the text in the pop-up response box (“Your message has been sent,” etc.) The response box pops up with its outline and inside the box will show colored text decoration for the heading assigned to the Contact Form when short-coded into the widget, but the response itself still is hidden.

    When I go to default Typography and customize heading 4 (text style color green and font decoration underline) then code the widget area this way:
    <h4>[contact-form-7 id=”3368″ title=”Contact Form”]</h4>

    the colored decoration appears. All of the labels are underlined in green, and inside the response box there are green underlines but no text.

    When I short code Contact Form 7 into the main body of a new page, it all works just fine. The problem seems to arise from placing this in the widget. As I said, it did work right in the widget before, but something has changed.

    When I “inspect” the code for the blank response box, I find this: <div class=”wpcf7-response-output” aria-hidden=”true”>Your message has been sent</div>. However, this same code appears when the message IS visible in the box (when Contact Form 7 is shortcoded into the main body of a new page).

    Here is another clue.

    The response box will show colored text decoration for the heading assigned to the Contact Form when short-coded into the widget, but the response itself still is hidden.

    When I go to default Typography and customize heading 4 (text style color green and font decoration underline) then code the widget area this way:
    <h4>[contact-form-7 id=”3368″ title=”Contact Form”]</h4>

    the color and decoration appear in the pop-up response box, but not the text itself. It is still hidden, but the colored decoration appears.`

    Also, when I enter the shortcut into the body of a new page (not a widget area), the response does appear in the box. When I “inspect” the box the same code appears:

    <div class=”wpcf7-response-output” aria-hidden=”true”>Your message has been sent</div>

    Is there a way to do this when the page is under construction and “private”?

    I wonder if this helps. I “inspected” the blank response box and found this line of code:

    <div class=”wpcf7-response-output” aria-hidden=”true”>Your message has been sent</div>

    Here’s my code in the Form tab:

    <p style="text-align: center;"><span style="font-size: small;"><span style="color: #0B0B45;">Your Name[text* your-name]</span>
    </p>
    <p style="text-align: center;"><span style="font-size: small;"><span style="color: #0B0B45;">Your email address[email* your-email]</span></p>
    <p style="text-align: center;"><span style="font-size: small;"><span style="color: #0B0B45;">Subject[text* your-subject]</span></span></p>
    <p style="text-align: center;"><span style="font-size: small;"><span style="color: #0B0B45;">Message[textarea your-message]</span></p>

    <label> <span style="font-size: small;"><span style="color: #0B0B45;">Upload document</span>

    [file file-563 limit:10485760 filetypes:.pdf | .jpg | .jpeg| .png | .doc | .docx | .xls | .xlsx | .csv | .txt ]</label>

    [submit "Send"]

    The site’s pages are set as “private.” Is there a way to get you access?
    I ended up using html to make labels that show. This is working but is clumsy.

    Also, I cannot figure out a way to get the Messages under the Messages tab to show. The box outline appears when a message is sent or is not sent because of an error, but the text does not show unless you highlight it; is the message displayed in white font color? I tried to add html to color the message text but the program will not allow html in the message tab.

    Thanks.

    Thx. Is there not a way to just keep it off the internet until ready? This is a new site, not yet published to the internet, as far as I know. At least I didn’t do anything to put it there. The Pages page makes it very confusing: some pages are “private” and others “public.” You can mark a page “private” but the message asks if you want to publish it privately. Anyway, the pages marked “private” and located under the “private” tab — are they online?

    p.s. Thanks for your reply to my question about text missing from Contact Form 7. I still have not found a way to correct that.

    Oops. Wrong forum. I mean to post in 2010.

    Same with other themes with a widget space on the right.

    This is not yet online.

    I am sure you are right, but I haven’t figured out where to go with that.

    When I change the theme to Minimalist Builder, all the missing text for Contact Form 7 reappears.

    Might this help?

    Dashboard/Appearance/Customize
    Header Settings
    Header Top Bar Setting
    Hide/Show Topbar (If on then modify Info one or Info two?)

    OK, I was able to delete the group of links on the right side of the page by deleting this code

    <div class=”csRow”>

    <div class=”csColumnGap” style=”margin: 0px; padding: 0px; float: left; width: 1.56%;”></div>

    <div class=”csColumn” style=”margin: 0px; padding: 0px; float: left; width: 47.7%;” data-csstartpoint=”15″ data-csendpoint=”472.5″ data-cswidth=”47.7%” data-csid=”fdc53e4a-a6d8-c3e7-86b9-7b927ec6bfeb”>

    And maybe the greyed-out “Pages” menu on the “Menus” page, is not just a “most recent” artifact and not currently active.

    I really appreciate your help. I know I’ll be back. Thanks.

    I am now wondering if the iteration of this menu that appears as a greyed-out “Pages” menu on the “Menus” page, is not something different. I was trying to put this group of links different places as a menu, widget, and as links in a column. Now I cannot find a way to delete the menu or the column of links.

    I am working on this offline. I did find the code in the revisions window. It is a group of hotlinks to the other pages. They are in a 3rd column that I made with Advanced WP Columns plug-in I think. The code is pinked-out for some reason. I can’t find a way to delete these 2 versions. The code is

    <div class=”csColumnGap” style=”margin: 0px; padding: 0px; float: left; width: 3.85%;”></div>

    <div class=”csColumn” style=”margin: 0px; padding: 0px; float: left; width: 20.8%;” data-csstartpoint=”737″ data-csendpoint=”937″ data-cswidth=”20.8%” data-csid=”0e99d90f-638e-433e-bb60-a333d608b9a6″>https://link1</p>

    <p>https://link2<br />

    [ET CETERA]

    </div>

    <div class=”csColumnGap” style=”margin: 0px; padding: 0px; float: left; width: 2.4%;”><img src=”https://wordpressip.[page title]/wp-

    content/plugins/advanced-wp-columns/assets/js/plugins/views/img/1×1-pixel.png” /></div>

    <div style=”clear: both; float: none; display: block; visibility: hidden; width: 0px; font-size: 0px; line-height: 0;”> </div>
