Thank you! Much appreciated.
I want to make sure I understand the setting right- I have an html site and wordpress is for a blog which is just one page of my site, and wordpress is in a subdirectory. So ‘site url’ refers to my html home page?
How do we add an image? Is there a work-around?

In reply to: PHP person help me with stylesheet code? Thanks very much for the help!
I had been editing the theme files but I took your advise and set up my own child theme and have it working now.
I have one more dumb question about the PHP. Do I remove that snippet of PHP from the header file and replace it with my html? Or do I just add my html to the header.php file?

In reply to: [Twenty Ten] Menu behind contentI had a similar issue and adding a margin-top to the #access code equal to the amount I needed it to move down the page solved it.

In reply to: Thumbnails not displaying after update to 3.3.1Sorry, I should have tried this before I posted, it was a plugin called Alkivia SidePosts. As soon as I disabled that, it fixed both problems.

In reply to: Thumbnails not displaying after update to 3.3.1Okay, now I just realized that no recent posts are showing either.
??I finally just reverted the site back to the previous version and everything works again. Something about our server is not compatible with 3.1 at this point, and it’s not something I can change.
swpnclr was kind enough to post very simple instructions as to how to revert to the older version on this page https://www.ads-software.com/support/topic/ran-auto-update-for-31-and-now-site-doesnt-work-deleted-mait-mode-file/page/2?replies=37 I had been looking up the information as to how to do this in the wordpress documentation but it was unnecessarily complicated and these simple instructions worked perfectly for me.

In reply to: 3.1 – Looking for an easy way to revert to 3.0.5swpnclr, you have saved the day! Thank you so much for putting this in simple words I could follow. Our site is back up and running! What a relief.
I won’t be upgrading again until I am SURE it is safe to do so!
GeoffreyG, we use IIS also and I suspect you are correct.
Fivexs, sorry it took me awhile to get back. I have been really confused as to what’s going on with our site. At first it seemed like all that was wrong is our images weren’t loading, then I realized the site is only displaying months old posts and new ones aren’t showing up. The image problem, I think, is due to the fact that these are old posts from before we changed servers.
I don’t have access to our server’s settings and so I don’t know how to proceed.
I was about ready to roll back to the last version but when I read the instructions it seems I need to be able to get into the server to do that as well.
