Hi there!
(We would have appreciated getting in touch with us to troubleshoot the error or opening a Support thread instead of a 1-star review as we reply fast enough to provide information.)
The most common causes around not seeing the legal pages generators are:
– Browser issues, ie. ad-blockers etc.
– Other plugin that can interfere with our own plugin. The most common plugin we’ve seen has been Post Scraper, but others may exist. It’s the same issue with themes that may load various JS scripts in WP Admin and they interfere with our own plugin’s JS scripts on the “Add a New Legal Page” page.
I suggest to get in touch from WP AutoTerms > Help > Send us a message and have the “Extended” option selected so we can have an idea of what plugins you use and some screenshots from “Add a New Legal Page” with the Developer Tools > Console tab opened to pinpoint if it’s a browser issue or another plugin issue.
@brandonarant Please email the screenshots to this email address we mention here –> https://www.wpautoterms.com/contact.html
We received your email, we’ll troubleshoot & we’ll continue our discussion over email once we receive the screenshots.
Hi there,
Please send me some screenshots so I can debug this.
1. Please send me a message from WP AutoTerms > Help > Send us a message with the “Extended” option selected.
2. Then, send me a screenshot from WP AutoTerms > Add a New Page with the Developer Tools > Console tab opened. We’ll be able to troubleshoot this a bit further.
3. Let me know if you use WP SEO Scraper plugin.
The 3 steps above would help us troubleshoot this.
Hi there,
I checked on https://onceuponathistle.com/checkout/ and clicking on the “Terms and Conditions link from the “I have read and agree to the website terms and conditions *” message works: a message box with the T&C contents appears above.
WooCommerce should have the option where you select your T&C page:
https://docs.woocommerce.com/document/configuring-woocommerce-settings/#section-23
Unfortunately, WP AutoTerms doesn’t have any translations available. We’re working on it in the next few versions.
Hi there,
All generated legal pages are not normal WP Pages (not in Pages > All Pages), but in WP AutoTerms > All Legal Pages.
The generated legal pages act as “Pages”, but they registered as “Legal Pages” so that WP AutoTerms Compliance Kits can work.
EasyCart or any other plugin (ie. WooCommerce) should be able to pick up any custom pages you have.
You can also send us some screenshots to have a look and we can guide you via email.
Another solution is to copy-paste the contents of the generated legal pages and create a new Page in Pages > Add a New Page and add this to EasyCart.
Hi there,
Where exactly are you trying to move it? You can move it just as with any other WordPress plugins: copy-paste the plugins/auto-terms-service[…] folder.
Hello!
Yes, we may help. But I suggest to troubleshoot this via email so that we have a better picture of what’s the issue here.
1. Send us a message from WP AutoTerms Help section > Contact us form with the Extended option selected.
2. Separately, please email us at [email protected] with:
– URL
– Screenshot of page
– Any error_log file you can find in your public_html/ or wp-content/plugins/auto-terms-…/ folder.Hi there,
I’m not sure what you mean by multi pages?
The plugin should work just fine with WP Multi Sites setup.
Hi there!
You can change the author just ss you do with any page or post from the Publish widget in the sidebar.
Each generated legal page uses your default page.php template. So if your theme shows the author, then any generated legal page will also show you the author.
If you’d like to control the design of your legal page, you can:
1. Create a new Page Template.
Please read Creating Custom Page Templates for Global Use: https://developer.www.ads-software.com/themes/template-files-section/page-template-files/#creating-custom-page-templates-for-global-use
2. Assign the new Page Template by going to WP AutoTerms > All Legal Pages > Select your legal page > Select the new Page Template from the “Page Attributes” widget.

Hi there,
The short codes for each generated legal pages will output the full contents of the legal page. Currently, we do not have a short code specifically to create a link that opens in a new tab, nor any “checkbox” functionality/short codes for creating checkboxes.
Without seeing your exact implementation and a live page URL, I cannot really give a lot of useful information. But:
– If a modal/box opens with the contents of your generated T&C, you can use both short codes to create a single modal/box with the contents of all generated legal agreements.
– If you can customize the single line with a link, I suggest copy-paste the page URL of each generated legal page and use the
a
tag to link to the legal pages from that single line.We never received a contact message in order to troubleshoot why it’s not working.
Hi there,
Please send us:
1. A message from WP AutoTerms > Help > Send us a message > Extended option selected so we can try to replicate the same setup you have.
2. Some screenshots and error_log files outlining the error you mentioning so we can troubleshoot this — https://www.wpautoterms.com/contact.html
Once you created a Legal Page, you can add additional content to it. You can modify it as you’d do with any other page.
The fix is part of our next version that includes a new policy with CCPA.
If your site shows this error, kindly email us and I’ll be able to provide the version we’re about to released so you can install it manually.
