In reply to: Problems setting up 1and1 to host wordpressHi inprintimaging,
If your current sites don’t require a database, you could always just get them to create a new MySQL hosting package for you, then move everything over yourself via FTP.
If you are unhappy with your current WordPress host and can’t come to a resolution, you could setup a new account elsewhere and simply change the NS records for that domain. You don’t need to transfer the domain right away ??

In reply to: After Login it shows a list of filesLike govpatel says, you should have an index.php in the root directory of your hosting account.
Make sure you have uploaded all the files to the correct directory, upload them again if you need to.

In reply to: Firefox browser problem with custom WP themeHi Kerri,
Have you tried disabling plugins, then enabling one at a time to see if one of them is causing the issue?
I’d also try the default theme to see if the issue occurs there.
This will narrow down if it’s theme or plugin related ??

In reply to: WP Virus?Great work. I’d still double check the other files.
Might also be a good idea to check your file and folder permissions as it shouldn’t be that easy for malicious code to be injected into index.php
Oh, and let your host know, just in case there is a security hole somewhere they need to look into ??

In reply to: Moving WordPress from Windows to LinuxHi McBryant,
So it should be somedomain.com/index.php/1043/ but somehow it redirects to somedomain.com/1043/
Login to your wp-admin and go to: Settings -> Permalinks
Select custom structure and enter: /index.php/%postname% – or – /index.php/%post_id%
Not sure why you’d want the index.php in the url though? I’m guessing your .htaccess is setup this way, but I’d remove it and just use %postname% or %postid%. Try backing up your .htaccess file via FTP and create a new one by going to the permalinks page as described above.
I looked at the dB tables and notice some of the info for this plugin contains the file path
You will need to do a search and replace to remove all the windows paths and replace them with your URL. Easiest way to do this is to export the database via phpmyadmin, do a search and replace on your PC, then upload the new data.
Hope this helps ??

In reply to: WP Virus?JS/Decdec.A is malicious JavaScript code usually injected in HTML pages.
If you visited your site and AV popped up alerting you of a virus, your site’s security *may* have be compromised.
First thing you need to do is contact your host so they can check things out for you.
Next, I’d take a backup (and scan it for malware), then clean/quarantine as required.
Personally, I’d install a fresh copy of WP and upload all the plugins and themes fresh, then search the database for suspect code or restore from a backup.
You will want to get onto this quickly as viruses on site’s can ruin the sites reputation with search engines and browsers, not to mention put a heap of people at risk.
Good luck!

In reply to: How to put some results at the top of search results?Maybe something like this would help? – https://www.ads-software.com/extend/plugins/search-everything/
Search Every Custom Field (metadata)
Search Every Tag
Not sure if it does exactly what you want, but it’s a start ??

In reply to: HTML in Text Widget not workingThis looks like some sort of affiliate code. (CJ?)
The actual image is hosted here – https://www.yceml.net/0490/10451434-13.jpg
You may need to check the affiliate code or see if you can host the image yourself and use the correct link.

In reply to: Help Setting up Portfolio WebsiteThe first thing I want to to is to change the title text
Settings -> General -> Blog Title
so I’m assuming I must have to go into the editor and code
If there are no settings in the theme to change the blog title to an image then yes you will need to edit code.
Download “header.php” from your theme folder “wp-content/themes/linquist2”
The easiest way to replace the text for an image would be to look for “<div id=”logo”></div>” and replace the <h1> with an image link. ie) <img src=”image/location/image.png” /> You can wrap a link tag around it if you still want to link back to the home page.
You can also do this with CSS, but it’s a little more complicated if you don’t know much coding.
The second thing that I would like to do is remove the blog from the homepage
Settings -> Reading -> Front page displays – Set this to “static” and select “Home”
Hope this helps ??

If it’s a plugin issue as you suspect, try disabling all plugins, then enable them one at a time to see which one causes the issue ??
