    Hi Gerry,

I am sorry you had trouble importing the demo content. We provide demo files for use with the popular One Click Importer plugin. It is a third party plugin not maintained by us.

In case you had any errors with the plugin, please try and contact the plugin author. The plugin is maintained by a fantastic team, and I’m sure they would be able to help you with any issue you faced.

The load_theme_textdomain function is present in the theme (in hoot-ubix\hybrid\inc\functions-i18n.php file along with all other language functions)

I can confirm that the translation is working. If you are directly adding po/mo files, then they should be placed in theme’s language folder
    i.e. wp-content > themes > hoot-ubix > languages
Also, they should be properly named using locales. For example fr_FR.po and fr_FR.mo for french language in France

We do highly recommend using a plugin like LocoTranslate and use the plugin to create the files outside the theme folder.
The plugin will automatically create the po/mo files for you with proper names and in proper locations.

I am really sorry that you had a bad experience with HootKit. Its never a great feeling to mess up a live site ??

-> The “Import Demo” is for installing demo content.
This is mentioned at several places, including right above the Import button.
(we do inform users right above the Import button that clicking it will make their site look like the demo site by importing posts, widgets, customizer settings)

-> The contact number is a sample ‘Announce’ widget just like on the demo site.
It is a demo number +1800-222-9876 and not our contact number.

I certainly hope you had a backup of the site database before you imported the demo content.

In case you have any suggestions on how we can make it more apparent to our users and improve user experience, please do let us know.

    Hi,

We realize you had an unpleasant experience.let us assure you we are trying our best to work this out with you. We do try to help all our users, and this is just an unfortunate misunderstanding.

Our site wphoot.com is a commercial site where we sell full-featured Premium themes.
At https://wphoot.com/themes/creattica/ the demo button is therefore for a full featured theme.Placing a free version on wphoot.com is counter-intuitive as customers come to wphoot.com to either purchase a full feature version of a theme or for support.

The free to use version of Creattica is distributed via www.ads-software.com. When you click on the Preview button on https://www.ads-software.com/themes/creattica/, www.ads-software.com restrictions do not allow anyone to link to an external demo site. The Preview button also restricts authors to use the standard template content, which is very restrictive and doesn’t let us authors to showcase even the free version options properly. This is something the Theme Team at www.ads-software.com is aware of, and they are working on finding a better solution to make the ‘preview’ more user friendly.

Regarding the specific issue of blog posts as content boxes, follow these steps:

    1. Download the .zip file for the child theme: https://drive.google.com/open?id=0B98l-9OOCULhMGs4UnBCSXlxdHM
    2. From your wp-admin > Appearance > Themes, click on “Add New” and upload the child theme
    3. Activate the child theme.

-> Note that this is a child theme for the free version. If you are a premium theme user, please let me know and I will modify this child theme for the premium version

-> WordPress stores customizer settings separately for parent and child themes. So if you have already set options in customizer, you will need to set them again for the child theme. Unfortunately this is how wordpress works

    4. Once your theme is active, go to Appearance > Customize > Static Front Page
    5. Set it to “Your latest posts”. This will make sure that the “Frontpage module” in next step shows your blog posts and not the static page content
    6. Next, in your customizer, go to “Frontpage Modules”
    7. Rearrange “Frontpage Content” module in the order you want it to appear.
    8. You will also notice that the child theme has added 3 new options in this module for the blog posts. See screenshot here: https://drive.google.com/open?id=0B98l-9OOCULhU1AxMk52NURQZ1U

We hope this helps. Please let us know if you have any follow up questions.

If you find our support satisfactory do spare a moment to rate Creattica.
    Cheers,
    WPhoot Support Team

    Hi,

We are very sorry you had an unpleasant experience with the theme. There are several things you pointed out. Please allow me to address all of them.

    – Unfortunately www.ads-software.com has certain restrictions on demo content, which is why we cannot host the free version demo here on www.ads-software.com.
The premium version demo is hosted on our site (the one you saw). This demo is linked from our sales page (for the premium version), and within your wp-admin right next to the “Buy Now” button. Both these places provide information on the premium version, including the demo link which leads you to the premium demo. If this was not apparent, we apologize for it.

    – Both free and premium homepages do indeed display blog posts. I agree that without these there will be no point to a theme.
The premium version however provides *additional* styles to display blog posts, one of which is the mosaic display. The demo site clearly marks these as ‘premium’ features in its menu.

    – The carousel on demo site uses the same slider that is available in the premium version you download. I am not exactly sure why you couldn’t get the same on your site. Since I couldn’t find any support ticket from you in our helpdesk, I’ll be able to help you further once you open a support ticket with your site url.

Once again, I am sorry about any misunderstanding that the premium demo might have caused. The free version is a fully functional theme with a lot of options. I am sure you can appreciate that we have to reserve certain features for our premium version as well. We have helped many free theme users with plugins they like to use with our theme.

If you have any questions or support issues, please feel free to open a support ticket with us. Premium users do get priority support, but we help all our users with any theme related questions they may have.

    regards
    wpHoot Team

p.s. Its never a pleasant experience to see a 1 star rating from an unhappy user. If you feel there is anything we can help you with to help you change your rating, please do let us know.

We are in the process of rolling out a ‘free installation’ service. In this we setup a users site exactly like the demo site with all of its content, sliders, features etc. Many users often find it easier to edit the existing content rather than starting from scratch. If you feel this is something you would be interested in, do let us know via our helpdesk. (if you already have content on your main site, you can create a new wordpress installation in a sub folder, and we will do the demo installation there)

WordPress import simply imports the content. Setting up the homepage takes a few extra steps.

You can follow the steps here to get your site to look like the demo homepage:

For any further support, feel free to use our support forums at https://wphoot.com/support/
(unfortunately we do not get email alerts for new topics posted at www.ads-software.com forums, hence the delay in response)

    cheers

    Hi ConquerorTravel,

I am sorry if there was any misunderstanding regarding the theme features.

Free version has the same slider as premium. Premium simply offers ability to create unlimited slides/sliders using shortcodes (wp.org rules do not allow shortcodes in themes hosted here).

Anyhow, if a user needs more sliders, there are some great free slider plugins available here on www.ads-software.com

I have personally recommended several free plugins on my support forums to free theme users, and provided customizations and child themes to manually change settings otherwise available in the premium version.

Considering the level of support we provide to our free users, it is discouraging to hear negative words like ‘Scam’ since that invokes a sense of dishonesty on our front and questions our integrity.

There has been absolutely no intention of misleading anyone on our part, and there are several genuine reasons not to include premium feature list in the theme description.

    • Biggest reason being, it is simply not allowed by wp.org rules. The rules state that the theme description should only state features that the theme has, not what is hidden behind a paid gateway. Same goes for the screenshot displayed here on wp.org.
    • Mentioning premium features in the description makes it a ‘sales pitch’ instead of a description of what the free version can do by itself. Users read the description and download the free theme based on its own merit, not for the premium features available once they purchase the theme.
    • The screenshot and the description of our theme only showcase what the free theme can do, and hence it is not supposed to be misleading in any way.

This is why several of our users are using the free theme without ever needing the premium version.

In the end, if a user likes the free version and wants to know more about the theme by clicking the Theme Homepage link to our site ( https://wphoot.com/themes/responsive-brix/ ), the page very clearly states the free and premium features, so there should be no cause of confusion.

    Hi,

The logo color is the ‘Accent Color’ you choose in the Theme Options panel.

To get a logo color different from the accent color, you can add this to your style.css by going to
Appearance > Editor > select style.css in right sidebar > add this at the bottom of the file:

    #branding #site-title,
    #branding #site-title a { color: #aaaa00; }

Please note that the above solution is for the free version only.
If you are using the Premium version, then you’ll find the logo settings in Theme Options > Typography subtab

Let me know if you need anything else.

    Hi,
I am not aware of WPP, but sure anyone can release a theme with the same name as these names are not trademarked or anything.

However, there can only be ONE theme with a particular name hosted on www.ads-software.com For example, you wont find another Chromatic theme here on www.ads-software.com

If you have another theme called Chromatic from WPP, you should only update it with versions provided from WPP.
