I had the same problem. You might need to contact your web host. I found out that my hosting did not have Java installed on the servers and the visual editor requires java to work.

Once they moved me to a different server with java installed on the server my visual editor was working again.

All files have been uploaded. My other option is to contact my web host.

I have thought this over and over.

So I guess everyone that is having a problem with the visual editor not working who is posting the same problem is also not a professional since they too are having the same problem? VERY unfair to attack my professional status.

I came to you for help, not to be yelled at that I’m not doing something right.

I will contact my web host, maybe they will be more adult in their response.

Been interesting reading all the posts regarding the visual editor not working. I too am having problems. The last time the visual editor worked for me was in 2.2. I’m going to downgrade. All the problems is not worth the fight in trying to get the visual editor to work with the new versions. With all the post regarding this, there is something wrong.

Help please………..I need to finish a customers website and I need to change font color, add bullets and add links and with the visual editor not working I’m stuck!

Below is a Screen Shot showing you what I see when the visual editor is checked under User-Profile. As seen in the screen shot there is nothing there.

Thanks, but this is not solving my problem. I’m trying to do a site for a customer and NOT having the visual editor is a pain. With this many complaints it seems to me that there is a problem with the new versions of WordPress. VERY FRUSTRATING!!!!! I love wordpress, BUT with problems that there seems to be no answers too makes want to search for a new program that works.

I have looked for documention that the programers are aware of the problem and have found none. With all the other people having the same problem….something is wrong.

This is a brand new install. I have no plugin uploaded yet. Regarding what I see, when I have it checked under User/Profile and I go to Manage/Pages there is nothing there. There are no tabs for the visual editor.

What would cause a problem in the htaccess file with a brand new install? I have read through the forums and it seems like this has been a common problem regarding the visual editor not working.
