Hi Brian,
For the most part I can match up human users reported by WF and unique visitors reported by GA. It’s not always 1:1, but generally I can see pages being accessed in each report from the same general locations.
The one where WF shows a hit from Georgia and Google shows a hit from RI has been consistent but is also the wildest mismatch. Not a big deal, obviously, but certainly curious.
(Thanks for the reply.)

In reply to: [Redirection] Upgrade bug?Same here. Just upgraded to 4.2, and the ‘redirect’ function of this plugin is showing me the above error. 404’s still seem to work.
If the dashboard widget is reporting system-wide results, then no (or yes): I did not know that, and as a new user I don’t see any way that I could have known that.
A big problem is that there is a button right under the widget info, which says, “Update Blocked IP’s”, and when I click it I am taken to my own ‘blocked IP’ page, with no indication that there is a difference between the two.
In any case, thanks for the follow-up. I’ll kill the dashboard widget. ??
Okay, but that 5 minute setting was the default.
I changed it as instructed, then did everything I could to clear the single blocked IP being reported on the front page / dashboard, but although WF continues to insist that I have no blocked IP’s that IP is still reported as blocked on the front page.
The front page / dashboard screen is also showing that the country (Mexico) with the blocked IP has also been blocked, but I’m using the free version and that doesn’t have country blocking enabled. (I’m not seeing any his from Mexico in the live traffic, and was getting a bunch of them before.)

In reply to: [UpdraftPlus: WP Backup & Migration Plugin] Confusion about schedulingUpdate:
Backup occurred today as scheduled, so I don’t know what the glitch was.
I’m going to mark this resolved unless/until it happens again.
It’s the default — 5 minutes. (I made no changes to the “Firewall Rules” section of the settings/options screen.

In reply to: [UpdraftPlus: WP Backup & Migration Plugin] Copying Backup to Remote StorageHi David,
I’m using English and in most respects the install is pretty vanilla. I’m also using a version of UD+ that I downloaded from this site today, so I assume it’s current.
The first point I raised is just about language confusion. The problem with the ‘admin address’ description in your plugin text is that there is a generic e-mail address for the site as a whole, which is entered in the site’s general settings screen, but also at least one admin account (user account) that has an email address, which may be different. Meaning the word ‘admin’ itself is actually used in two different ways by WordPress, which is what tripped me up.
Your text references the email address entered on the General Settings page for the site, and you can see where the confusion comes in on that page because the explanation underneath that blank says: ‘This address is used for admin purposes, like new user notification.’ In that instance ‘admin’ means administering the site, not being logged in AS the/an admin.
The second point, about the confused link, occurs in this text on the plugin settings page:
Your site’s admin email address (admin@example.com) will be used. For more options, use the “Reporting” add-on. Be aware that mail servers tend to have size limits; typically around 10-20 Mb; backups larger than any limits will likely not arrive.
Here’s the page source:
<tr class="updraftplusmethod email"> <th>Note:</th> <td>Your site's admin email address (admin@example.com) will be used. <a href="https://updraftplus.com/shop/reporting/">For more options, use the "Reporting" add-on.</a> Be aware that mail servers tend to have size limits; typically around 10-20 Mb; backups larger than any limits will likely not arrive. </td> </tr>
When I float my mouse over the UpdraftPlus link in the above text, I see this (which I copied and pasted here):
https://www.example.com/wordpress/wp-admin/%22https://updraftplus.com/shop/reporting/%22
I have no idea why, but that’s what I see (although %22 displays as “), and if I click that link I get a 404 on my own site.
Thanks for following up.

In reply to: [UpdraftPlus: WP Backup & Migration Plugin] Copying Backup to Remote StorageOkay, #1 is actually a semantic problem, and on closer reading your description is accurate but could use a slight tweak for clarity. You are pulling the email address for the SITE as a whole, not for the admin-level user. Maybe something like this would help:
“Your SITE admin email address (https://example.com/wordpress/wp-admin/options-general.php) will be used.”
Just something to indicate that you’re not pulling a user-level email address.
#2 is still a problem.
