We finally found the problem. We are making few more tests before launching 1.7.40.
Thanks for your help in this matter.
Ok, we think we know what’s going on. We’re going to check our idea and get back to you.
Thanks for your comments.
Also, take a look on Statcomm 1.7.30 is coming:new features
Here we are explaining subplugin advantages and limitations.
Best regards
FernandoThe Subplugin system is reusing much of WordPress core as possible. That means anybody who makes a plugin could easily make a subplugin.
We’ll be adding many examples on incoming Statcomm versions along with posts, documentation and we hope some videos.
Best regards
FernandoYou are right. What we meant is we need to take a step further. We have listened also to another user in this post.
What we trying to achieve is a more generic way of grouping information using a combination of Ajax with nested tables. We are under way of getting it, but it needs testing. The idea is close to the sample you provided.
Thanks for your suggestions, we’ll going to implement it.
Best regards
FernandoThanks for your comments.
With the current Statcomm core, it is possible although it needs to be implemented.A subplugin could do that creating some views based on the patterns. However, we need to figure it out a nice way to display the groups. Currently html tables are little ugly to display and handle the data.
We are working to implement Ajax tables inside Statcomm core, but we are in very early stages. We think we’ll get to your idea sooner or later, since grouping is a needed feature to display incoming data in a more understandable way.
We’ll try to publish a list of requested features and include yours in it. that will be published in our site https://wpgetready.com soon.
Best regards
Fernando.You’re welcome.
Please regard we released a fix to yesterday release , the 1.731 thanks an early warning from the users.
Thank you!I installed Wp-slimstat with Jetpack, Statpress(or variants) and Statcomm in one site and they seems to run fine without conflicts with each other. This test wasn’t very thorough but no errors were detected in three months of activity.
Don’t try to run similar flavours of Statpress at same time though (like Statpress Reloaded with Statpress) since they share same table name but not always the same table structure and shares option variables in most cases.
Same situation applies to Statpress visitors, Statpress Seo solution, Smashing Analytics , Newstatpress, StatpressCN and few others. Choose one and deactivate others.
Wp-slimstat runs fine with Statpress side by side.
Best regardsThank for your comments.
Currently Statcomm can log the user id, enabling the option ‘Also collect data about logged users’ .At this stage, the plugin provides no tracking tools unless the user decide to take advantage of the action and filters the plugin provides.
We are currently developing additional modules to overcome this limitation.
Hi bamajr, we really appreciate your comments and suggestions. Thanks!
Currently much of the additional functionality you are describing could be build quickly. In fact, some rough examples are on the following links:
https://forum.wpgetready.com/index.php?topic=195.0 (filter)
https://wpgetready.com/2012/05/expanding-statcomm-statcomm_info-action/ (actions). We also know those techniques would be useful for tweaking and complementing particular sites and user needs, but in the end many users just don’t know how to use using actions and/or filters. Not every site owner is a developer and to build custom solutions could end up in cumbersome code dependencies, hard to mantain and understand.
To tackle generic user requirements, we are working in a sub-plugin mechanism where is possible to add custom code to Statcomm plugin core in a more manageable way. The user will be able to decide which functionality to turn on/off to match with her/his site requirements.
This is far to be completed though, but this is where our efforts are currently heading. When we achieve this goal, we will gladly add the features you are requesting.
Thank you for your support and enjoy the day.
Statcomm is doing its best to avoid conflicts. You can run both plugin together if you wish.
Our tests shows that Statcomm can run side by side with other Statpress variations without problem.By the way, we want to clear out few things. Statcomm does not miss counts nor forgets saving incoming traffic. The problem probably resides in the cache system and the way it sees the current day. We are working to improve this area.
There is a workaround to solve the problem. Every time the options are saved, the cache is discarded and rebuilt along the time. Recalculations are made again and hopefully, corrected. Just save current option, you don’t need to make any changes and the data will be adjusted.
Our apologies for the problem.
Statcomm 1.7.20 has multisite features. Give it a try.
