Thanks for the report on the slow query, which will be addressed in the next release.

This would be run when building the author XML sitemap. There is no covert or underhand ‘gathering’ of data about your Users, but this query can certainly be optimized in our next update.

As you are using a third party Theme, Plugin or custom code to produce your own open graph data, you can disable WP Simple SEO’s open graph data per Docs:

We have not seen this error before, and are unable to reproduce.

Given the error relates to querying WordPress Users, using WP_User_Query, you would need to work with your hosting provider to understand why using a WordPress standard function (i.e. this is not a custom database query) would result in a SQL database query error. To be clear; we are not performing anything specialist here – this is a standard query, called by WordPress’ core.

This may be caused by, but not limited to, some or all of:
– server configuration,
– WordPress version,
– third party plugin modifying user queries

Given that you have a multisite environment, you are welcome to setup a staging site, activating the plugin on that site only, and working to reproduce the issue.

Failing that, I can only recommend using one of the many alternate SEO plugins available on WordPress.

Just type the text you want to display in the Title and Description fields.

These field values determine the Title and Meta Description on your site.

The Insert Tag dropdown has nothing to do with this, and there is no requirement to choose an option from its list.

You are welcome to use tags or freely write your own title and description.

It is up to Google to re-index your site and reflect these changes.
