You can find plenty of instructions on Youtube, just search for

“upload files using FTP”

Just use FTP and access your site root and delete index.html, index.htm or default.html, default.htm?

Unless it is created by a plugin for some reason, only one .htaccess is needed at the root of your WP site, if you use permalinks. Or you can just delete .htaccess, let WP permalink settings create it for you.

Looks like you have a file called

public_html/index.html

or

public_html/default.html

delete that file.

You can disable that plugin using FTP to rename that plugin folder.

Glad it’s solved. When there is page error problems, saving the permalink options again from WordPress settings also solves this kind of issues ??

See if your DNS server settings is set correctly from the domain registrar

I see it sometimes redirects to facebook page, try to disable all the plugins.

It’s probably due to the theme, incompatible with your current WP version. Just log into your site using FTP, rename the theme folder so it will fallback to WP default theme and able to log back into wp admin.

Probably have to delete a file called index.html. If this doesn’t solve it, contact your hosting support.

So I picked my old database and crossed my fingers!

I don’t know how the auto installation works, but there are 2 possibiliies:

1. Drops and creates new tables: in this case, you will lose all the data. Hope you have another backup.

2. Creates new tables using a new table prefix: in this case, you will have 2 copies of the tables in the same database.

What your hosting suggests by export/import using phpMyAdmin is correct, that’s what you do when migrating from one database to another.
