Thanks for the help. For those wondering, the issue was not having the php zip extension enabled. Turned on debug and saw an error about “ZipArchive,” so I went to my host’s site and into the PHP settings and enable the zip extension. Re-ran import and it worked perfectly. Thanks!

Tried saving as XLSX, and same issue. As far as the content, could there be an issue with carriage returns within a cell, for paragraph-form answers?

About the only thing I’d say is that it didn’t look like my .htaccess needed any changes, so that was confusing. Not sure if there were supposed to be changes when I set up MS that didn’t happen, but… it’s working, so I guess I’m good.

And even then, I’m not taking one site off Multisite, leaving the rest, and putting that site on a new domain. What I need to do (in terms we’ve been using) is get rid of the sites at https://www.domain.com and three.domain.com, disable multisite entirely, and take the site that was at two.domain.com, and make that the new, single-site, https://www.domain.com.

Would these be the steps? https://wpmututorials.com/how-to/how-to-disable-multisite/ …and if so, what exactly is meant by these two parts:

Move the content and users to the main blog

and

Drop these global tables in the database…

But let me change the tune a bit. Just got notified this morning by the client that plans have changed, and instead of multiple sites, they really only want to have one.

So as much as I like tying up loose ends, I think my question has changed from switching domains on multisite, to… how do I take one site from multisite, get rid of multi-site, and make it a single site on a domain that also used to be on that multisite.

More specifically, let’s assume I switch things back, since there were no issues before. So two.domain.com is back to being two.domain.com. Also, www.domain.com is back to how it was too, and is also the main site where multisite is installed. How do I get rid of multisite entirely, and take the site at two.domain.com, and make it the single (not multi-) site at www.domain.com?

New images going to /wp-content/uploads/2016/05/

Went into the Settings tab on what is now domain.com. Both of those fields are blank.

I don’t know how that would have been changed (even with the Velvet Blues URL plugin), nor do I know how to go about fixing that. Lastly, is the image location really going to solve the problem with theme settings? Oh, man, it looked so easy… ??

I didn’t, at least not that I know of. The timeline of events went like this:

1- change the URL on two.domain.com to domain.com
2- change define('BLOG_ID_CURRENT_SITE', 1); to 2
3- change the URL on the original domain.com to two.domain.com

…then I went to the site to look, and theme settings and images were not displaying…

4- used the Velvet Blues Update URLs plugin on the site that is now domain.com, and changed anything that was two.domain.com to domain.com, and checked the boxes for URLs in page content, URLs in excerpts, and URLs in links (not URLs for attachments)

…took a look at the site again, still nothing fixed.

Is it strange that the media library itself (in what is now domain.com) shows all broken images, as well? The media items are there in the list, but images for them are not. And I don’t know how to explain the theme settings being correct on the backend, but not displaying properly on the front end.

Well, the images that are missing are pointing at /wp-content/uploads/2016 for what is now domain.com (which is wrong, according to your comment), so my first question is how to I change that, globally? Even if I try to change an image manually, my media library has all of the items listed, but they’re all broken images in the library too.

Second, I’m still confused why my theme settings are lost. Actually, I should say that when I’m on the backend of what is now domain.com, the theme settings look correct. They’re just not being reflected on the front-end, the way they were back when it was two.domain.com.
