Ok, I have to try to see if I can avoid this problem using some other charset on backup/restore then.
But I only did a backup and a restore from the same database, on the same site and on the same hosting provider. Maybe a half hour in between backup/restore and did only update WP and some plugins. I have done exactly the same backup-update-restore process before summer with no problems so I suspected some change in your default settings.
Thanks for reply, I will try.
Has there been a change of default settings in recently updates or why have this problem started now?

In reply to: [Media Cleaner: Clean your WordPress!] Problems display issuesI have the same issue. Was some problem where I needed to reset the tables after plugin activation also, not sure if that is connectect to the display issue.
I understand that it is more then just one plugin to keep the shit out but I thought that Shields Core file scanner should alert me if there was infected files. Here it hasn’t done that on any site. Is there some conditions when it can’t discover infections?
After yesterdays investigation I think I will use Wordfence for cleaning and scanning my sites but I think Shield will remain for spam, user and login protection. That part I’m satisfied with.
Ah, sorry. Now I see it, didn’t read the whole message appently =)
I like to keep it simple with WordPress css editing and have not always a FTP client in reach. I guess a lot of people do the same through the editor. To disable and enable that rule every time sounds to much work so I will go with the administrator white list. Any obvious downside with that you know about?
And the next release is…. today? =)
Ok, I will add that file and see if it solves the problem.
Will mark this resolved if I don’t get any more warning today or tomorrow.
Update:
I took the big step and updated the live site as well (after I carefully backed up the site). I installed v5.0.2 without your file and everything works fine.
I will leave it for some days now and watching if anything happens. Will come back and mark topic as solved afterwards.
Feel free to write some comments of what ground cause could be… db junk?
I can’t explain why but the debug-site works now. Here’s my test steps:
1. Replaced my ‘options-vo.php’ with your edited file, the problem was gone!
2. Updated plugins (including your new v5.0.2), the problem did not return!
3. I also tried to uninstall and reinstall the plugin without any problem! Not sure what your modified file do. Shouldn’t your file be overwritten when updating to v5.0.2? Why did the problem not come back then?
I’m still a bit worries for reinstalling and activating Shield v5.0.2 on the live site. Should I use your file first like on debug site?

In reply to: [CC Child Pages] Orderby titleOk, that makes sense. We have to make it work until a new verison is out. Thanks for your time!

In reply to: [CC Child Pages] Orderby titleYes, that is a possible work-around. I difficulty here is that vi have maybe 50-60 pages at the moment and maybe adding a 5-10 pages within a sort period.
We could maybe use sort order 10, 20 and so on to be able to add pages in between. Hopefully you can fix this issue before we run in to bigger changes =)
