Thanks for following up on this and not forgetting. It is much appreciated.

Yesterday I made a stupid mistake and accidentally moved (instead of copied) all my files to a sub-domain, which I’m TRYING to set up as a development site. When I realized what I had done, I copied them back. Maybe that fixed it?

About the backup, I guess I should have All and Database checked on if I want both. I thought All might have covered it all and I would only check on Database if that’s all I wanted.

Right now I’m trying to import the database to the subdomain so I’m not working off of the same one, but I’m having a heck of a time. It is so convoluted and confusing to me, and I don’t have the right privileges. Ugh! Is this something support can help with? I’ve read many of the support files but I just don’t get it.

While you’re in there, can you please go into wp-includes and get rid of a directory named “new-2? It has some old git files in it. I couldn’t delete them yesterday so I renamed the folder and moved it there, hoping that would help. It didn’t.

My host said there’s nothing they can do on their end because the site is on a shared server. They can’t increase the settings to fit my needs.

I ended up fixing it by setting the most recent posts in the sidebar from fifteen down to ten. That made it so I can show all the download links on the page. The thing is, though, I have to really keep an eye on this. I have a lot of stuff to add to this site and once the menu grows I’ll be over the limit again for that page. It just seems odd to have this kind of limitation. I hope WordPress can do something about how this is handled.

I don’t fully understand the reasons for this problem. I just know that there is one.

After a long confusing and frustrating chat with my Host (the guy works in Customer Support but didn’t want to help. Go figure), they finally confirmed the problem. Now I just have to wait for the techs to move on it.

Oh, since it didn’t work I took it back out. I just now put it back in. It’s the second line from the bottom.

Wow, lucky me. It’s not like I don’t have enough challenges already. I’m still struggling with inserting images. This is way way way over my head. I guess I’ll just send this along to my Host and see what they can do.

Thanks for digging that up, esmi. I’m very fortunate that you knew about it and could find the info. Amazing! I would have wasted another three or four hours (maybe more) before I gave up in utter frustration.

@ flick: No, the problem was still there. When I clicked on the Music category it opened up the Music page and no a listing of the music posts. It’s fixed now.

@ esmi: Thanks so much! Because of what you suggested, I knew instantly what was wrong. So I changed the Music category slug to music-posts and that took care of the problem.

Try changing:

to:

margin-left: auto;
margin-right: auto;
text-align: center;
}

in style.css.

This is an edit: I said before that didn’t help, but it did help some.

How can I increase the margin when I want more vertical spacing between photos and between photos and other elements? I don’t necessarily want more spacing all the time, but in some posts I would like to be able to adjust it.

Thanks again for getting the center alignment to work on the caption. That saves me a lot of time and trouble.

Oh, I figured it out. I accidentally deleted a semicolon from the line above.

Thanks, I will try that soon. But now, all of the sudden, the caption is not aligned center anymore. It was. I swear it was. But now it’s back to how it used to be.

Hmmm? This could be frustrating if I let it get to me.
