I don’t use any personally, but everyone seems to go with a service called FeedBurner to find out how many people are subscribing and other such things. Google it and have a look.

I suggest finding another package… WP can and will do all those things if you sink enough work into it, but why bother? Go with something better suited to your needs (Joomla?).

Make sure your feed is being updated properly… and perhaps, just for now, turn on full posts instead of excerpts if you have them on? This I am just guessing about. If all else fails, hack your feed ??

I put it below the header. You may wish to manually check that you have done everything right by viewing source on your homepage and finding the TWO keys there, and also manually viewing your MAIN feed to find the single post key. If everything is as it should be then I think you’re outta luck :/

I got mine working today, without much trouble. For my main feed I just had to add one code to the homepage index.php, and another to a post that actually appears on my homepage (this was the tricky part, since I only display selected content).

For my second feed, which is segregated from my main feed, I had to do the exact same thing strangely enough, although the URL and content is different… basically bloglines seems to focus on what is happening on your homepage, and won’t go scouting around anywhere else. Hope that helps?

Well that’s all right. Perhaps a different (lighter?) tone of green in the bar near the top would work better? Also, I think you have a graphic mis-aligned in the bottom right. Looks ok for what its supposed to do, however.

Thanks all! I just noticed this thread got some attention long after I checked into it… my site has now been live for about six months or so, and I’ve done plenty of fine tuning… it may be worth another peek!

Re: the validation issue… whenever EC3.1 comes out of beta I’ll probably tinker around until it passes validation… the rest is clear on the index, and it probably wouldn’t be much work to take care of the rest… there are some IE quirks I need to iron out but they’re rather low priority.

Since it came up, I would have to disagree with the sentiment that a writer’s goal is to have readers. That is one possible motivation, admittedly common, but there are other reasons to write as well… I am content to churn out reviews for my own personal reference, and most of the rest of the site is streamlined promotional material for my DJing hobby.

Lastly, I actually end up receiving a fair amount of inquiries about the native BitTorrent tracker… integration is fairly simple with phpbttracker+; just cut the existing tracker into a page with some form of php-executing plugin installed and customize to your liking.

I’ve run up against this problem now… relative URLs are a bad idea, aren’t they? Last I checked, they break in the feed. I switched to absolute paths all across my site, but now I am simply killing myself with self-pingbacks (owing to a dedicated interest in networking all my reviews)… any help?

I ended up adding this to my wp-rss.php:

if (!is_category()) { query_posts('cat=-6'); }

This seems to work…
