  • Hey @jgold723

Since no one has bothered to respond to your super-simple question, and I just happen to be here…

You don’t actually have to pay for the API–you get $200 free usage each month for maps, and generally, most websites don’t go over that. I’ve never paid a cent for it and use it for multiple websites.

From the Google Maps Platform Pricing Guide (https://cloud.google.com/maps-platform/pricing/):

Can I still use Google Maps Platform for free?
“Yes. When you enable billing, you get $200 free usage every month for Maps, Routes, or Places. Based on the millions of users using our APIs today, most of them can continue to use Google Maps Platform for free with this credit.”

FYI @bsokic I had this same issue, except the update *entirely* screwed my CSS for the entire calendar plugin and the above solution did not help at all. I do a lot of file editing, so I imagine that is why it occurred. I had to entirely rollback the plugin using the WP Rollback plugin to version 2.5.0 to resolve the issue.

    Hey Hanna,

If you haven’t gotten this fixed and still have access to your WP Dashboard, try rolling back the plugin. I updated today and the newest version ENTIRELY screwed my website up–all of my styling, everything. I had severe issues with the update.

WP Rollback is a FANTASTIC tool to fix issues like this. Just install and activate that plugin, then go to your Installed Plugins page and under each one, there will be a “Rollback” option. I rolled back All-in-One Event Calendar to 2.5.0 and now everything is working *perfectly* again.

For those of you who DO have access to your Dashboard, try rolling back the plugin. I updated today and the newest version ENTIRELY screwed my website up–all of my styling, everything. I had severe issues with the update.

Yes! I haven’t had any issues with actual website protection. Wordfence was where I ran into the brute force issues. I’m beginning to think they were false positives.

So far, I quite like Shield Security. I appreciate the fact that it isn’t constantly squawking at me to update things I have no intention of updating…. and that it doesn’t constantly email me about my own activity, lol (*cough*Wordfence*cough*). There’s a long-winded reason as to why I posed my question, but I’ll just say that I’m glad to hear that statistics are being considered as being included. Overall, I think it’s a “peace of mind” aspect, but they are also quite useful in situations such as mine in which one believes the attacker to be known.

    Thank you for the response!

(The 10+ “Brute Force” attacks are daily, by the way. Failed to include this information. I did notice that Wordfence is literally blocking Google….)
