I am curious about this as well. The last few years WordPress and SEO plugins have improved drastically in such a way that you can select a primary category. For example if I write a travel blog about Germany I select categories Travel tips, Europe, and Germany. And Germany being the primary category that shows in the URL because of SEO reasons.

However, there is not way to let YARPP know that it should use the primary category. It goes on matching a lot of other totally unrelated blogs from Europe and travel tips. Instead I would like to show the other Germany travel blogs.

Maybe this is something that can be looked at in the future?

Thanks for the tips. I tried that. Still the same issue. Even when using the ?WordPress Health Check & Troubleshooting plugin, disabling everything in a safe environment with everything disabled with a standard theme, the problem still occurs…

thank you for your reply but I have been using this for many years and yes usually I search fore the correct category in the search bar on the right (because that is faster then manually scrolling through 200 categories) and select it. However, also using the search bar doesn’t work anymore. The missing categories do not show up there.

The only way to add a blog post in the correct category at this point is by going out of the post and go to the overview page, select quick edit and manually scroll and find the correct categories there. There I can still find them manually.

It’s really strange, why did they disappear in the Gutenberg editor sidebar and why only 69 of almost 200 are showing up now? I am totally lost…

Also tried the official WordPress Health Check & Troubleshooting plugin. Even with all plugins and themes disabled, the issue persists in the troubleshoot test area.

TransIP.nl from the Netherlands is my hosting provider. And no, I cannot edit files manually, to risky for me. Is there any other way to fix this? If not, I will just have to delete the plugin and try something else….

Changing the theme to Twenty Nineteen didn’t solve the issue either. It really looks like it has something to do with just Woocommerce. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Same here… I wanted to configure WP Forms just now and add the SMTP plugin via WP forms dashboard.

Complete site crash. Horrible to say the least. This should not happen. EVER.

The quick fix for now is go to your FTP, Wp-content folder –> plugins –> remove wp-smtp folder completely. The site will then return to normal.

They better fix this soon or I’m out.

Yes, I am running the theme Gridlove by Meks in standard mode and about 90% of it works. Took me nearly three days lol.

You are right about the hamburger menu, it’s one of the few things left that I need to fix and unfortunately I do need help from the theme developers. I hope they are willing to help out.

Anyway thats for checking, the Google Site Kit plugin is working flawlessly. I also added the AMP tag via tag manager. Keep up the good work!

I might need to add that I have also enabled google tag manager in site kit with container AMP snippet inserted. Just want to make sure everything is working correcly, I am not a coder.
