I see this behavior now.

For a few days I was observing inconsistency between which image was selected (all posts contained a featured image). I’m not certain what the cause of the image syndication inconsistency could be attributed to – perhaps a plugin conflict or a ghost in the machine.

Resolution Discovered:
Featured Images will break for all posts with Titles containing ‘non-compatible’ characters (in my case the offending character was ‘>’).

PostX fallback images will continue to work for posts using Titles containing ‘non-compatible’ characters.

Is this a WordPress limitation?

Featured Images are set correctly using the following basic wordpress approach:

• Add New / Edit Post
• Post Settings (Right Sidebar) > Featured Image > Upload / Select from Media Gallery.

Note:

• All posts have an assigned Featured Image. The Featured Image is visibly assigned in the Post Settings (Right Sidebar).
• PostX is setup to utilize a “Fallback Image”. If there were no featured image assigned > there would still be an image presented to frontend users.
• Featured images do display properly in the ‘Add/Edit Post backend.
• Featured images do not display in Frontend (even when logged in as Administrator).
• From the Frontend, it is observable that there is an assigned (and broken) featured image. You can see that the URL for the broken featured image is displayed within the PostX background image container.
• Removing the PostX image suffix of ‘870x 570’ from the URL for the featured image and pasting the original full size image url into a new browser tab will display the featured image. Something is negatively effecting PostX Layout Landscape (870×570) for me (even when all other plugins are deactivated).

Follow up:
Scheduling posts does visually disable Meta Boxes ‘Auto Publish > On’ within ‘Add/Edit Post Page’.

Scheduled Posts > do successfully auto publish despite the visual change in backend settings.

@jonas8686 report remains priority issue relating to Scheduled Posts while the contribution I have reported slots in as a secondary ‘aesthetic / user experience’ related issue.

Jetpack Social has proven to be a bit ‘unpredictable’ with regard to instagram. I had to cease testing because of the arbitrary share limit imposed by Jetpack Social.

Prior to ‘credits’ running out – I noticed that if all variables were identical (file dimensions, file size, etc.), I would see 1 in 3 posts successfully sharing to Instagram.

Thank you for checking in on the status of this thread, it’s thorough and much appreciated.

For now, I’m resolving this issue because I’m currently pursuing non Jetpack Social solutions (may return, may not).

Facebook Debugger revealed no issues.

I adhered to the documented aspect ratio guidelines.

I was able to resolve images being posted by regenerating my entire media library. It was the only fix that delivered a solution for subsequent posts ?????♂?.

I’m also here to report a related user experience issue relating to ‘Scheduled Posts‘.

Environment:
WordPress 6.4.3
Social Media Post Auto Publish 3.3

Observation / Issue:
Social Media Auto Publish global settings for ‘Autopublish’ is set to ‘On‘ for my connected platforms.

I noticed that when writing a post to be ‘Scheduled’ rather than ‘Posted Immediately’…

The Social Media Auto Publish Meta Boxes on the ‘Add/Edit Post Page’ visually change from their default ‘Auto-publish > On‘ to ‘Auto-publish > off‘

If @jonas8686 findings prove to be correct relating to my own installation, my scheduled posts will publish anyway (I’ll report my findings after the scheduled publish event takes place in the morning hours (UTC-5).

Either way, it does appear that between the two of our differing reports – there may be something requiring attention relating to Social Media Auto Publish and ‘Scheduled Posts’.

I’ve never felt forced to purchase your plugin, I may have felt misled with regard to your recommended solution of “move to the paid version for full functionality” as answer to my inquiry relating to triggering compatibility when posting from Official WordPress and Jetpack mobile apps.

Especially in light of…

The answer being no – your recommended solution of buying the paid version would not solve my problem; it would not even address my problem. The paid version would only possibly upon some future date maybe address the issue.

This is why I ask pointed follow-ups when my initial inquiries are answered vaguely and with “throw money at it, may not work, but you’ll feel you tried.” It’s not a course of action I’m comfortable with following, personally. Makes me feel prickly.

2.) Yes, I tried using the drop down to select a subreddit. No subreddit is available (unresponsive dropdown menu) despite the connected Reddit account being the owner/mod of two subreddits.

Your image visualizes the exact mechanism in FS Poster Lite (for Reddit) with which issues are occurring.

Your response neglects to state in an open and forthright manner that spending money on the paid version of FS Poster would solve my workflow issue.

Your response to my user experience issue is simply to give you money. Not. Born. Yesterday.

Research into your product and future business model reveal that you are moving into a SaaS form of consumer capture.

So if I were to spend money on the paid version of FS Poster today – how long of a product life could I possibly expect to enjoy before a notice appears that I must pay more money… and pay every single month?

-Will FS Poster (Paid) continue to function without limitation of functionality as a standalone application independent of your planned SaaS version?
