A Quick Additional Report:

Upon further review:

• This may only occur when the Friends Plugin is activated.
• This may relate to whether or not the post being published has ever previously been saved as a Draft.
• This may relate to whether or not a post with the same title has ever been posted (yet deleted).
• (Maybe it’s something wildly different.)

I’ve updated to the latest 4.3.8.
There seems to be a issue with caching plugin WP-Optimize.

No luck here. Caching is a necessity. Any thoughts on which Essential Blocks files to minimize, exclude, or load async in order to have it work with caching?

I’m going to miss this plugin!
I suppose (?) this plugin is completely dead as of Nov. 7, 2023.

• Share On Mastodon ? works.
• ActivityPub ? works.
• Share On Pixelfed ? posts nothing.

The stabdalone dialogue does open when I point browser to icecubesapp:// ??

Mastodon apps > Apps > Icecubes redirect displays properly.

App redirect never happens. And inside of Mastodon Apps > Delete outdated and Delete apps without tokens always deletes full list of Icecubes apps.

When entering a WordPress Instance URI, what should the email field read? Should it be an email associated with the WordPress installation?

Safari is my default browser for macOS and iOS.

Does this plugin depend upon or use .htaccess, /.well-known/, or webfinger?

Perhaps manual changes or directives need to be added?

Following up on this issue.

Any insights on whether this is a documented, widely experienced phenomenon or this individual user’s error.

I return with amazing news to be shared with anyone suffering from webfinger issues as I have outlined above.

This article solved everything for me. Requires adding two lines to the site’s .htaccess file.

Perhaps future versions of ActivityPub Plugin might be able to account for this and make the additions to .htaccess upon activation or a button representing Admin action(?).

Preliminary Findings:
(Note: Haven’t tried with other plugins deactivated yet)

Successfully, opens app browser and takes me to my wordpress login page.

I can successfully login.
I’m taken to my wordpress backend.
Mastodon app (Ice Cubes) doesn’t redirect me back into the app from the app browser.
Mastodon app continues to say “Sign In”. Never changes.

Yes, I’ll eagerly test this soon and report my findings.

Thank you. I removed the manually created webfinger file and ActivityPub is registering both whole blog and individual author profiles to the fediverse.
