I’m sorry, but I clearly stated that I somehow fixed it. It still don’t know what made it work then, but it clearly wasn’t a definite fix since it just keeps happening. Like I said, I’m not very savvy on this subject but I did check all the catching options of the plugin and they are all disabled. I don’t understand why this happens or continues to happen.
I don’t remember installing anything unusual. It’s not a site I update frequently.
I have an objects plugin installed and this is what it says about the php version:
PHP version: 5.2.17
I hope that helps!
Thanks in advance.I had to go and deactivate it permanently due to a want of an answer. Please help or I’ll have to uninstall it and find a replacement.
Please help. This issue is unresolved and it’s taking down my site whenever it wants to.
Mark, thank you for your prompt answer. No, I didn’t see any such message. As a matter of fact, I got my website back after emptying all page caches. I’m not a programmer so I have no idea why it worked, but since the error was issuing from two php files somehow related with it, I decided to give it a go. I was fortunate enough to be able to go to my dashboard, for otherwise I wouldn’t have known how to do it. But that somehow fixed it. I have Update WF automatically unchecked because my server doesn’t allow such a thing and I don’t see any messages about LiteSpeed web server.
Please take this into account to better deal with this issue if it ever presents again.
Thank you,
Xondra.
And when I say that you only bothered to answer after I bad rated you I mean that I wrote several times on the forum, just like other people, begging for help, and you rarely ever replied back to anybody. I wasn’t lucky so I got no reply in the forums and thus I’m angry and I don’t believe your insincere apology.
You only bothered to answer when I gave you a bad rating, and your answer is that “a new update MAY fix the problem” at that so, no, I’m tired of writing and filing forms. Because I made important changes to my WP installation using your plugin I will wait for that eventual magical update that somehow fixes the issue, or until I find an alternative to get rid of your plugin, but my disappointment stays as such.
Thanks for helping me recover “the experience”
Since I can’t really delete the plugin for using it to secure my site via two very critical changes to my WP installation, I will simply wait for Ithemes to catch up and clean their mess, if and when they bother to do so.
Hiding the backend def has something to do with the issue. Disabling the url protect option (wherein an attacker cannot execute scripts via url) also sems to help or to be involved in this.
The logs section of the plugin’s dashboard recorded the 404 errors. When I click “details”, this is everything I get:
Array
(
[query_string] =>
)Does anyone know what that means?
It’s definitely something to do with some rewriting of htaccess. I have a way older copy of it, uploaded it and my site just came back, but I’m hoping for developers to fix this issue as soon as possible.
I also changed my nickname and asked wordpress to use it for public display. I’ve no idea whether this has anything to do with anything, but I’m offering some info on my site’s configuration so someone might help:
I had changed my wp_content folder’s name prior to the update
I had hid my htaccess file prior to the update
I had changed my database prefix prior to the update
I clicked “save settings” several times after reviewing them and thinking them exactly the same as before”That seems to be the most critical aspects of my Better WP Security settings.
Before upgrading I had to upgrade my theme and a couple of plugins. The last plugin I updated was WordPress Seo by Yoast, the only plugin I updated after upgrading to Ithemes S.
I also added a couple of lines to htaccess to increase execution line, but erasing them doesn’t fix the problem, so I think it’s unlikely they are the cause of it.

In reply to: [Jetpack - WP Security, Backup, Speed, & Growth] Sharing buttons not showing! The odd thing is that I also had W3 Total Cache in the other installation but buttons worked just fine.

In reply to: [Awesome Filterable Portfolio] Problem with uploading imgsSo basically this author’s reply for any issue is “I tested it on WP and it works fine for me so I won’t bother to check other people’s issues”
I loved the plugin until it decided to crash on the new WP version (3.8.1). I’ve been screaming around ever since because I really want to use it, but NOONE answers and it’s getting the worst out of me.
I’d really appreciate it if the author decided to check for bugs in his code instead of placing all the blame on other people. This is like the third thread where I see such behavior.

In reply to: [Awesome Filterable Portfolio] thumbnail not optionSomething happened with AFP after wordpress’ last update, because I got this when I installed the plugin (had to rebuild my site):
“The plugin generated 1412 characters of unexpected output during activation. If you notice “headers already sent” messages, problems with syndication feeds or other issues, try deactivating or removing this plugin.”
But noone answers!
