I don’t think this is “resolved”… or should we start a new thread?
Same!
RESOLVED:
For anyone else who may need this, it’s under Advanced Options > Supports > Uncheck Editor
Hi! I’ll provide more information:
I am looking to design custom registration and login pages using a page builder (Elementor). Nextend provides a shortcode for adding a social option, but not a traditional email-based shortcode. To get this I would need another plugin.
It seems to me it would make sense for one plugin to allow users to add a traditional (email) option as well as social logins.
Thanks for tracking with me on this.

In reply to: Support for Meta Descriptions without the need for a pluginHi allitinfomail!
Meta descriptions are standard thing for HTML documents and have been forever. You don’t have to use them, but there should be a field for them.
I agree SEO plugins are useful for fixing indexing issues with WordPress due to plugins (like template files being indexed, etc.)! I think plugin developers should be aware of this issue and keep internal things out of the sitemaps and have a “noindex” tag on them—instead of needing an SEO plugin though!
All the best.
Thanks for you reply.
I’m just noting that your response doesn’t speak to the purpose of the post, i.e., removing the baked in reliance on Gravatar, and/or giving users a built-in option to use the media library instead. This stands.
I wlil respond to your particular points:
You can also deactivate the Gravatar integration without any plugins or programming. See: https://www.wpbeginner.com/beginners-guide/how-to-disable-gravatars-in-wordpress/
Not relevant to this post. Post is about using profile pictures, not disabling profile pictures.
There are numerous plugins to enable users to create their own avatars. You can find a selection here:?https://www.ads-software.com/plugins/tags/avatar/
Already aware of this. This post is about WordPress core making provision for user profiles using the media library (Gravatar should be an option, not the only built-in way to do this… it’s just silly).
Thanks again for providing some valuable side notes for the meantime!
Hi, just following up on this. I’m setting up a new site and see this issue still persists. Could you give me a status update please, and/or let me know if there is a better place to send this suggestion along?
Thanks!
EDIT/UPDATE:
I see now that once our page is rendered on the front end, the labels aren’t showing. We are using Elementor and the MailPoet shortcode inside a shortcode widget. You can see the results on the front end (nothing done to this):
The back end (Elementor editor) still shows the labels (as in OP). Interesting.
This also begs the question: What if we want labels to show outside the fields?
Hi Bruna,
We are already using categories to limit which posts MailPoet sends. The issue is we still want a particular post to be in that category (on the blog), but didn’t want it sent as an email. There are cases when this might make sense.
Is there a way to prevent MP from sending every post in that category?
Or can you suggest a workaround?
Thanks again!
Understood – my point was is that this stage can easily be “skippable” without needing tying some database string between WP user roles and your plugin. It’s just not necessary and should be optional. Thanks for receiving my suggestion! ??

In reply to: Support for Meta Descriptions without the need for a pluginHi nice to meet you!
I have to say your response is, to me, ungrounded, and rather an arbitrary statement. Whyever should “META description and tags (be) meant to be added at the theme level or through a plugin”? I see no logical reason for this. Such metadata is not a theme- or plugin-related or dependent topic. Attributes such as
description
are ubiquitous to all websites, search engines, CMSs, social sharing platforms, etc. Thus a website CMS should support basic metadata entry for users. Do for example Squarespace users need to install a third party app to write meta descriptions? No. Should they? Of course not.The only thing I’ve been able to find so far is this article (https://codex.www.ads-software.com/Meta_Tags_in_WordPress), which is a rather obtuse treatment of meta attributes.
I get it, WordPress is free. But core meta attributes are a staple of the web and all users should be able to work with them without needing to install or buy additional, third party software (which is sometimes bloated, can cause other issues, etc.).
I dropped a feature request in https://core.trac.www.ads-software.com/; we’ll see how that goes.
Thanks for interfacing with me on this! All the best.

In reply to: [Yoast SEO] Noindex all posts in a given categoryThanks Maybellyne!
And what about issuing a “noindex” meta tag on the posts in a given category programmatically?
Hi sorry for the delay – thank you I have sent the info via the form on the page you sent!
