In reply to: inexplicable commenrt spamThe above response doesn’t seem to take into account the fact that I am only getting comment spam for *two* entries out of hundereds.
It’s not very helpful.I am trying to remain as objective as possible about the support forums and support in general for work press, but the reality is that there are very few people here who know what they are talking about and even less who actually can be bothered to help.

In reply to: what does file upload actually do??Above all, I don’t want to sound like another panicky irate user, but could somebody give me a clear idea of how the image upload thing works.
What I am doing is hit browse, find my pic., and uplaod it. It appears *as a thumbnail* in the upload field there. I drag and drop it onto the write-entry field. It can be stretched — but it’s still a thumbnail. There’s link to the original sized image.
What I’ve been doing to get around this – is upload it, then use the ‘add an image’ button in the whizzy-wig bit. I then drag the thumbnail into the Image URL box in the ‘add an image’ dialog. I then delete the part that says thumbnail in the dragged URL.
But it’s a pain. How is this feature supposed to work?
THanks for any help.Forum: Fixing WordPress
In reply to: Inserting graphics into blogClick on Write, to start writing a new entry.
Start writing your entry.
When it’s time for a foto, roll your mouse pointer over Upload, which is to the right of Write.
Right-click on Upload and choose ‘open in a new window’.Click on the ‘browse’ button and find the foto you want on your computer.
Once you’ve found it, click on ‘Upload File’ at the bottom of the page.
You will see something like<img src=’/wp-content/fire.JPG’ alt=’woman is the fire’ />
come up. Instead of fire.JPG will be the name of your foto. “alt=…” will only show up if you wrote something into the Description part.
Highlight everything between < and > with your mouse, right click on it and choose ‘copy’.
Go back to the first window where you were writing your entry.
Right-click and ‘paste’ into where you are writing.voila.

In reply to: upload imageHi I just started using wp, and just joined this forum, but I feel it worth mentioning — what about the wp-content folder? Do you have its permissions set to 777? Does that gotta happen – or is 755 okay?
I was having the same problem of images not showing but then I just did what that other guy said and it werked.
