Which version of WordPress are you running? It looks like WordPress has done some changes to the rewrite rules in 3.2 so it is currently not compatible with that version.

I’m afraid there hasn’t been much progress lately. I’ve been working on another project, but as soon as things quiet down with that one, I’ll be working on getting an update version up.

Looks like some sites have issues with the old Posterous API. This wasn’t affecting me or my beta testers which is why we didn’t catch this.

I’ve reverted the stable version back to 2.1.1 until this can be resolved. Please download it from here if it doesn’t prompt you with an update: https://www.ads-software.com/extend/plugins/posterize/

Hi there, sorry to hear you are having trouble. After putting in your Posterous credentials, click on “Get Sites”. You should get a list of your Posterous site(s). Make sure you copy the ID and put it in the ID field. After that is should automatically post to your Posterous site.

Keep in mind right now it will only post when using the WordPress admin. It will not cross post if you email or RSS import your content.

I’m currently working on a new version that will make the setup a lot easier. Currently beta testing.

The link back option should create a link on your Posterous site back to the original post. The full content should post the full content on your Posterous site. If you are getting anything different then there is a problem.

You are correct, currently Posterize will only cross-post when a post goes from “Draft to Published” or “Pending to Published”.

I’m currently in the testing phase of the next version (2.2) and this version will trigger when a post is simply published, no matter the method.

I respectfully disagree.

The “source” is the website/application that utilized the API to post your content, which in this case is the Posterize plugin. If you use Twitter, I’m sure you already noticed it says what application was used to post the status (ex. via TweetDeck, Twitterific, Web, etc) and this will be the same if you are using a WordPress Twitter plugin that auto Tweets your post.

This is used to spread word about the 3rd party applications you can use with Posterous/Twitter, which is why it links back to my site. To help spread the word about Posterize.
