I was scouring the interwebs for a plugin that does the same thing. There are a lot of them. I saw Twitter Tools, Simple Twitter Connect, and WP to Twitter the most. Best of luck!

So I too have been looking for a function that will publicize to various social media sites, although I was looking for something more for Twitter. I decided to use “WP to Twitter” which seems to work pretty well for me. It actually looks and functions very closely to the “Publicize” feature in WordPress.com. I came across some other plugins that seem to do similar things for other websites via a Google search for “best wordpress plugins.” Best of luck!
