Where in the website code, would the verification code be?

I only mentioned WordPress to give some background.
I came to this forum because I could,not get any sense out of Google!
I went to Google Webmaster Central and can see that the person definitely is a verified owner of my site. I have tried to unverify him or her, but I get a message saying that

Webmaster Central
We weren’t able to unverify [email protected]. Verification file still exists.

I copied the page , making anew page and then trashed the old one. It is now showing on the site but not as the first page.
Now the problem is to get the site to land on this page.

aha .. the problem was that the facebook widget in the side widget area was too big.
After removing it, the footer menu returned. But now I have a big black extra footer menu. How do I get rid of that please?

Pages still be there when I delete the menu?

Would I be best to delete the footer menu and redo it? My pages will still. Be the wont they? Just the menu deleted?

ok .. found the header code .. in appearance/editor/header.

Fixed that one.. WHEW!

Now the footer menu needs to be reintated. How? Please

yeah. taken child theme off . Menus not working.
Still csn’t find footer menu. Can’t find where that google code in the header is too to take it out.

I put the Child thingy theme in … MISTAKE!

Oh My God! … Now the site is all different. I’ve lost my header photo and the top menu is not working HELL! How do I reverse it?!
