okay i have figured out that if i use pictures i have already downloaded to my website, they appear in 2:3 images in my image posts page. If i create a new image post article and download pictures there, then the featured image shows up like square in my image posts page.
and so goes the image on the actual page: if i have choose existing image from media library, the featured image is just small thumbnail. If i download new images the featured image will appear in full size in my post.
