Ok, I tried: reactivated the old Twenty-Eleven theme without touching the default appearance and tried uploading media. No change. At least it is not a theme issue. :/
Is database involved with these type of wp actions at all?

I’ve tried creating “uploads” folder myself. Both the folders permissions are 777 but nothing has change. It seems that wp can’t write in there or something.

Wp_content permission is currently 777 but the “uploads” folder is still not created by wp and I get the same message mentioned above. Any ideas? Where’s the bug?

thanks for your advice.
I’ve changed wp_content folder permission to 755. In a similar topic thread someone suggested to erase uploads folder, cause wp would recreate it by default once you upload something. Which I did, but it didn’t happen: there’s no uploads folder, and this is the message I get when I try to upload media: “Unable to create directory wp-content/uploads/2013/07. Is its parent directory writable by the server?”
Not sure what this mean, but I guess wp-content is the directory mentioned?
