In reply to: Site Hacked – Now pages show incorrect contentThanks for the advice. My site has been hacked a few times before. This time I took the time to wipe out WordPress and do a complete reinstall. Other than a few bugs with the theme template, everything seems to be working fine again.
Thanks

In reply to: Server Error 500Sorry….1 last question. I have reloaded WordPress and now when I visit my site all I get is a blank white screen, but no server error. Does this sound like an issue with the database or the theme/wordpress installation?
I can access the login screen, but once I type my username, password and hit enter I get another server 500 error.
I was able to repair my site Sunday night after the hack and it was up and running again. I really didn’t get into trouble until I installed the latest WordPress. This leads me to believe the database is fine and there is something off with my wordpress installation.
Any thoughts?
Thanks
Brad

In reply to: Server Error 500Thanks. I will give it a try. Do I leave the old theme folder intact or do I upload a new theme folder and delete the old one?

In reply to: Site Hacked and Email ChangedThank you for your input. It looks like I will have to dig a bit deeper and make some changes to my site to make it less easily hacked. I will read all of the above links in detail. I haven’t updated my installation in a while which I am sure is a major part of the problem. As well….your point on my autoplay is well taken ??
I was also able to change my password and email through My SQL in Cpanel so I now have access to my site to make the changes and as you can see I was able to delete the offending files, but I still need to make sure there are no other back door files remaining.
Thanks Again.

In reply to: Website Was Hacked – WordPress not workingThe hackers said they only changed the index file within the site template, so reinstalling that should fix the issue. However, the site you are now looking at is new and not the original site that was hacked. I was unable to fix it so installed a new template and things seemed to work.

In reply to: Website won't loadWebsite is still having issues. I get the message “Error establishing Database Connection”. The Config file looks ok to me. Any thoughts on why this is happening? I am unable to acces my admin login as well.
Any help would be appreciated, my website has been down for almost a week.
Thanks

In reply to: Website Was Hacked – WordPress not workingThanks for all of the great advice. Unfortunately my hoster does not back up my account. I will dig around in my site and see if I can find files that are not supposed to be there.
I have one last question, if you don’t mind. I have already uploaded the recent version of WordPress including the index file, however, my URL does not seem to point to my site. When you type https://www.YourLowMortgage.ca in a browser the screen just turns white (or gives a server error depending on the browser you use).
The .htaccess file looks like this:
Options FollowSymLinks MultiViews Indexes ExecCGIAddType application/x-httpd-cgi .izri
AddHandler cgi-script .pl
AddHandler cgi-script .plCould that be my problem?
