In reply to: Change in background appearance and sidebarSorry, the other thing to add was the page numbers have disappeared also, so nobody can scroll through to the next page to view older post summaries.
If anyone can help at all I’d be very grateful! Thanks.

In reply to: [School] moving and adding page titlesBrian, so sorry – I realised after I left the house that the first time I tried your code (and no doubt made an error), all I could get was ‘breadcrumb’ size text for the title posts, which is what I referred to up message, whereas this last time I got the titles looking exactly how I want them, so of course the ‘breadcrumb’ text is fine as it is – I was getting a bit muddled up and no doubt sounding fussy!
I have just had a proper look and it’s quite nice actually, and easy for readers to navigate, as you say. I will save your code – and whole post actually – in case I don’t feel it works but am so happy with how it is, compared to the previous issues.
Thank you SO much for all your help and patience ??

In reply to: Removing Read More or shifting further downBrilliant, thanks for all the suggestions. I will have a proper look tomorrow and try. Think I will also contact the theme developer (it’s a free theme, not commercial) to see if they are considering changing it. It seems a shame that it limits how the site looks in such a big way.
Thank you again!

In reply to: [School] moving and adding page titlesHi Brian,
Thanks so much – it is probably me doing something wrong, but basically, I have input your code and I now have the home/blog displayed but small and the post title how I want them, but also with Home in small too. I have left it up to explain:
https://bigtroubleinlittlenappies.com/humour/the-healthy-parents-five-a-day-rule/The other CSS codes I have is to stretch the width of my header to 100% and to remove the pencil icon, but I don’t know if they are impacting on your code. As you can probably tell: I am clueless!
Thank you, thank you!

In reply to: [School] moving and adding page titlesThanks a lot for these options, really helpful. The first means blog / home does appear but in very small font, then the post title on the post page is the same – I am wondering if this is the best solution for the moment, but will have a think about it.
Thanks again for taking the time to look into this and offer solutions – very much appreciated ??

In reply to: [School] moving and adding page titlesBrilliant, thank you. Have now sorted the page issue through your suggestion. Much simpler than I thought it would be!
I hadn’t realised about title disappearing once clicked on but now know why. I asked for help on removing a large title and icon that came with the theme and looked odd and out of place on my homepage, hence the code you found. I am guessing that has removed all titles which isn’t great. But I definitely don’t want the previous out of place icon and blog word!
The only solution I can think of is to add the post title to the photo, but it isn’t ideal! If you have any suggestions I’d be grateful though appreciate you have already given this time so no problem if not.
thanks again ??

In reply to: Removing Read More or shifting further downThank you so much – the code has worked perfectly and moved the button to the right, further down.
Do you know if there is a way to remove having an excerpt and read more button, or is it very complicated? No problem if you don’t have time to comment further – I really appreciate the help already, it’s made a big difference!

In reply to: [school theme by ketchup] way to remove top menuBalint,
Thank you SO much! It has removed the Blog part and the pencil icon, and yes I have applied your code again for the header (my mistake replacing it earlier).
I am really grateful – you guys are so helpful, supportive and kind ?? I wish I could return the favour but as you will have seen am completely clueless with any of this!
I’m so happy with how the site looks now, when I first changed over I didn’t like it at all but was really limited in what I could change myself.
THANK YOU! ??

In reply to: [school theme by ketchup] way to remove top menuHi Robyn,
Thanks so much for your help and sorry for causing more work by not mentioning the pencil icon in my first post.
I’ve tried your code and it unfortunately hasn’t worked. It’s also moved the header back so it doesn’t cover the width of the site. I have left it as it is (with this code) if you have time to have a quick look again, though I appreciate you may not have!
Thanks again,

In reply to: [school theme by ketchup] way to remove top menuHi Balint,
Thank you so, so much – the header image is now perfect and fully across the screen.
The word ‘Blog’ with a pen and circle is still there though not the word ‘Home’ underneath it… I can’t actually remember if Home definitely was there before but I think it was (sorry!)
I guess maybe it can’t be removed? Or should this be something I am able to edit out with CSS code?
I appreciate your help so much ?? Thanks also for the info on the possible reasons, it’s a relief to know my site is safe if it happens again though as I didn’t know that. Am used to the security of wp.com!
Thanks,

In reply to: [school theme by ketchup] way to remove top menuThank you – my site is now up and running again with the school theme, if you did have chance to take a look at some point again please ??
The other thing is my uploaded header image does not cover the full width of the site for some reason, yet on school’s preview theme, that image does. I have used the same image for my wp.com blog and thought it stretched to fit anyway – I just thought I would mention in case it is something simple you might know about, but no problem if not.
Thank you!

In reply to: fatal error and unable to access site or log in to adminthanks so much for your help – my host removed it directly and it is now working again.
Sorry for duplicate post – I got in a panic as I couldn’t tell if it was a plugin or a theme issue and if that would affect who could help and didn’t realise I shouldn’t post in two sections, though that of course makes sense. Lesson learnt ??
Do you know if it is likely that the theme had a software bug or something then? I just want to check if it’s something I did, to try and avoid for the future!

In reply to: fatal error and unable to access site or log in to adminHi, thanks so much for your help (and on my theme post too). I have contacted my host for instructions on the FTP software, just waiting to hear back as I’ve yet to use it / know how to access it.
Thanks for the advice on the plugin – I thought it might have been a new theme I had installed to try – hathor – but will follow your advice as well as trying to deactivate the above theme too.
Can I ask, does this mean that the installed software from this plugin is faulty? Just want to try and ensure it doesn’t happen again, if it is something that I’ve done to cause it.
Thanks again,
