– Otta, the rich text editor (you mean the visual editor…right?) is switched off…
plus how does one explain the fact that if from the same computer when I log in as myself I can easily paste the same code and save it without losing the code. But when I log in as the author who has had the problem, I paste the same code, but upon saving it gets lost… this seems to be a “profile” connected issue… (my guess)

Any recommendations?

Thought I would also add the server specs… do they seem to be ok to handle 5-7k page hits a day or should i move get something better?

Moshu, well the host was having a hell of problems yesterday because according to him my multi author site was crashing the server (Previous thread)… in one of the attempts to restore sanity he had it upgraded to 2.1 and upon his advise I removed bbpress, wp views plugin and a bunch of other plugins and installed the wp-cache plugin… things returned to normalcy after this. but 2.1 is now causing the formatting errors… hence the whole deal… i don’t know what I’m doing (since I’m not doing anything being a non techie), its the hosts idea to go back to previous version but then get all those plugins out and get wp-cache plugin in.

Moshu, the host said he’ll restore it back to what it was 2 days ago (something he will do from backup mirror or something)… I’ll lose authors posts and comments of the last two days but right now the way the pages show up in IE (it looks fine in Firefox) isn’t a good sight.

decided to go back to the previous version… will wait a while before upgrading to 2.1

Oh God… but the page acted fine inspite of those problems in prior versions of WP.

Any advise? Please do let me know.

Let me explain by example

Lets say I have 5 categories

ID Category Name
1 ACategory
2 BCategory
3 CCategory
4 DCategory
5 ECategory

I would like the category list in the sidebar to be displayed like this:

DCategory
ECategory
ACategory
CCategory
BCategory…

Is there a plugin that can move a category up and down… you know something like that queue in Netflix where you can move any movie in your queue up and down…

It seems LivingDot is having a hell lot of problems. Third time this morning that my blog sites went down… I talked to some of the companies above, but didn’t get the confidence about the customer service. For one, most of them refused to help migrate my blogs and forums and cautioned that they won’t be able to help me resolve issues like changing my .htaccess file (in case some plugins need changes there) etc… stuck for now.

Well that’s a new provider… anyone having stuck with their hosting providers for some time and really liked them? How about LunarPages? An Hosting?

Any recommendations… One of my fellow bloggers on BlueHost (listed on WP’s host pages) has been having similar problems for the last three days where his site simply goes down.

Thank you. About the Author’s list, I didn’t find in the documentation where you could print the Author’s “Display Name” selection using the wp_list_authors funtion. Is there a way to do this? The function accomodates first name, full name, last name, loging name, but not the selected “Display name” from the drop down box in the author profile page.
