    I think I found a solution indirectly.

    Dear Kris, you may be wondering why I took so long to respond. First of all, what you suggested was the last resort. I was here for gathering some clues, not for definite solutions. But that aside, I was thinking. Would a hired supporter’s help in one particular issue can help me continuing with?a theme that is no more supported?

    Fact is I just can’t give up on the theme. It’s the most brilliantly structured theme that I have ever come across, with features categorically unavailable in 100’s of WP themes I had tested in the past. And there are unmistakable indications that it’s one of the earliest themes that had tested/used Elementor. And I was able to incorporate several WP Patterns into some of the theme’s template-parts files. It’s so sad that the theme was discarded. I am totally confused.

    OMG! ‘Save Draft’ is staring at me and I missed it. Of course, glaucoma has damaged my normal vision. Anyway, thanks a lot, @gappiah ??

    Again, thanks a lot @threadi. Closing the topic.

    I sorted out the issue. It’s at the server level. I use different browsers to use my different Gmail accounts. My site is with Hostinger. You won’t believe it, but their machinery is browser-bound. They associate your ID with a browser! There was a time when I used to reach my admin dashboard whenever I opened Google Chrome. To make a long story short. I used my Chrome browser to read the message from WP to the new email address (for which I usually use MS Edge). I clicked the link, and immediately reached the Site admin — even w/o logging in! And I saw that the admin email was changed as I wanted it.

    Thanks a lot for your time, @threadi

    @gappiah Ah, yes. Everything you said. But this is the first time to me — I mean the jester type.

    Thanks for the info @gappiah. I didn’t know user-name could contain a space.

    That said, my note is not about how I set rules for my site. It’s about several people registering on a site in a peculiar way, rather back to back. And it is not just writing full names or all family names. They share a linguistic pattern, not just in the length but also in the syntax. I don’t think even you would use the same letter-construction for User name, Nick name and Display name alike.

    @bcworkz, I had customized it days ago — changed the words, changed the original background and given it a parallax effect. It is placed at the bottom of my site right now,

    After several attempts let me confirm that I can’t change the email address under
    wp-admin/options-general.php

    I changed the email using the dashboard Settings>General, right below the Site Address (URL). I got a mail at the new mail address. I clicked the link given in it. I reached my site but couldn’t sign in. Was it possible that I had changed my PW and forgotten about it. Possible. I tried a different PW and was able to login! So it was a case of mistaken password? Here is the mystery.

    I entered the Admin area. My email ([email protected]) was not changed under Settings, and there was this message:
    There is a pending change of the admin email to?[email protected]
    I have no idea how to explain this.

    Thanks a lot for replying.

    I perfectly understand the caution in your note and I take it seriously. I can write an essay to say why this is the most aesthetically and structurally brilliant WP theme ever created. It’s one of the ealiest Elementor experiments, and in 2020 it was years ahead. And the theme has several features that lack in all WP themes (100s and 100s of them that I had tested in the last 5 years). It has survived the latests versions of WP and PHP, and is compatible with all the plugins I use — notably LiteCache. I have even successfully incorporated WP patterns into the theme — even on front page sections.

    I hate to give up on this theme, and so I am eager to know which files of a theme are touched up usually to keep them updated — as per WP protocol. If an expert can handle it, I can think of hiring him/her. (If I had funds, I would have done my best to redeem this unique theme.) If an alternative inevitable, the only WP theme I can think of is Twenty Twenty-Three. And I am taking backups regularly.

    I fixed it. Thanks to Peter and George for trying to help.

    1) The FontAwesome icon is not from WordPress. It’s likely from your theme.

    Of course, it is very clear, and I have quoted the code showing where it is used in the theme. It’s in a section php file. The front page consists of several sections. The section I mentioned has 2 columns named ‘ISSUES 001 TO 500’ and ‘ISSUES 501 ONWARDS’.

    2) You need to examine the theme’s template that displays this icon to know what code to replace/override. Due to the heavy caching on your site, I can’t even figure out what theme you’re using!

    I have already done that. Pls see my response to item 1. / If you’ve seen my site, you have seen the website with the smallest amount of cache in the history of WordPress ?? I hate cache.

    3) For a single icon/avatar swap, you may be able to pull it off with just CSS. But if you want this to be done dynamically for all authors

    I have already made it possible to display the respective author’ name (above the .fa-circle icon) in each excerpt, but it was done for all categories in general, elsewhere. CSS could be a very good choice, but I don’t know how to convert an .fa icon into author avatar.

    Oh, I forgot. The related code in the Section php file is:

    <span class="section-icon">
    <i class="fa fa-briefcase" aria-hidden="true"></i>
    </span>

    Thanks a lot for responding. I know how to get the author name & avatar displayed, and I have done it elsewhere on the site. What I need is the code to replace the .fa icon with user author avatar that I can directly put on the relevant section php page. I know where to put it, but I don’t dare to experiment with my own syntax. ??
