Being new to WordPress and not that familiar with my web host yet, I have a lot of new web addresses and passwords to keep straight. For someone that knows the more than a little basics and is delving in to learn it can be overwhelming. I’m sure others on this forum can sympathize with that.

By the tone of the replies I got I understand that you are trying to keep the idiots out, but honestly, it was a mistake that even someone who has been involved with web stuff for awhile could do so hopefully this post won’t confuse anyone and instead will help someone who might have the same problem.

sounds like the best thing would be to choose another theme and upload it?!

Since I’ve never done that before my content will show in the new theme after I upload it, correct?

I found the information in this forum and went to the tutorial at https://www.tamba2.org.uk/wordpress/phpmyadmin/

It shows you how to use your cPanel login and find your user name and password. I followed the instructions and found the user name, which is also the one I have written down as well as what was e-mailed to me.

So, no, I’m not trying to confuse everyone, I just followed what was in several different posts on this forum before I posted to try and find the answer.

Now I’m confused and bummed because I really wanted to get his up and running.

I also tried putting in my e-mail address for lost password and I get a message saying that the e-mail is not registered.

How could this be when as you can see I have already posted to the site?

Again, sorry for the confusion, just trying to track the problem down.

I am trying to log in at https://wordpress.com/wp-login.php
I am not trying to reset my password. I know how to do that from the AdminPhP in my cPanel. That same spot does show my user log in name which was not set up as admin but instead another name which I have logged in before with. As of yesterday it would not let me log in with that username and am at a loss.

I guess I need to know how to reset the username. I tried in the AdminPhP but could not figure it out.
