**Update**

It does actually work using WP-Mail-SMTP plugin.

I have set up contact form to send to both our company email address and my person gmail address and this is the results.

There seems to be an hour delay from sending the message to it being received by our company email address.

The Gmail email address receives them instantly.

Any idea why the delay to the company email address ?

I have got it working sort of.

installed pluging “WP-Mail-SMTP” and set it up to send from email that is a company email.

Tests work and emails are received, but only in Gmail.

So it works when sending emails to a gmail account, but not when sending to out company email address. ?

Strange.

Any ideas ?

It excludes everything and makes a package about 174kb ?

Any idea why it excludes root files like wp-admin ?

Not sure how to go about getting around this ?

just to update.

I have done a pre zip check and it shows:

Pre-Zip Size: 792.51MB 28,081 Files, 3,227 Folders

It looks like it is trying to back up all my websites as they are in the root of the other main website.

Can anyone give me and details ofa hosting company that would let me try their hosting out as a trial and if it works out ok then I will move with them.

well today was the fasted times that they have loaded. Normally they take over 60 seconds to load.

its silly.

today bizwin took seconds and pmb took over 20 seconds.

then I tried another one https://www.forklifttraining1.co.uk and that took over 2 mins to load up.

and https://www.rpgarageservices.co.uk took about 3 seconds ish

Do you think its something to do with the hosting server ?

there is no pattern that i can see.

Are you getting any info from elsewhere that this is slow, or is it something that you’re aware of?

Its me thats aware of it. And I have tried them at different locations on different machines and still get issues ?

I was gonna try another hosting company server and see if the same happens ?

just to add I have used bluehost who seems slow in the uk and now use cyberhost pro.

I am sorry that i am replying to an old thread but im having similar issues and cant find any other threads that relate.

I have two sites both running the same theme and hosted on same shared hosted server. one is a sub domain and one is an addon domain.

My issues is the same issue every day. I try to go onto the websites and they both will not load up for over a minute, sometimes longer.

Once they are up and loaded they seem to work fine for the rest of the day. I have tried different pcs and phones and different mates internet and still the same issue occurs. I have spoken to the hosting company who checked them and said they are both fine.

If you’re using the forum as your front page, why to just use regular forum software like phpBB or SMF?

I understand, but its much easier to use the existing wordpress template and just add a plugin.

I have no experience with phpBB or SMF and I am not a coder, so making these BB’s look like my wordpress website will be alot of unecessary work.

after a bit of swearing and testing, it seems that there is a bug with the pluging and static pages.

If you try make the plugin page the static Front page then you cant do anything with the pluging. So I have had to make another page static.

Any idea whats causing this and if there is a way to make the forum page the static font page.

I tested mingle and decided to use it on my site. all seemed good.

So I made fresh install of wordpress on a new subdomain as per the testing. Then just installed the theme and mingle forum plugin and now I cant make new topics despite being able to do it on other test sites.

Whats wrong ?

Any help ?
