The theme horse: featured widget is not working on my website. The featured image page option is completely gone when I try to edit my pages. I tried deactivating all of my plugins but the issue still occurred. I also tried uninstalling and re-installing the theme and that didn’t help either. :/

Hopefully this will help someone in the future.

In the back end of the site go to Appearance then click on theme options then on the theme options page click on featured/post and slider. There you put in the post ID numbers. Then the theme will take the featured images of those post and put them on the slider.

I resolved my problem. I made the images 770px by 400 px. I guess the height was too big. I am just surprised that the regenerate thumb plugins did not work for the slider.

Also, I tried using different plugins such as AJAX Thumbnails and Force Regenerate Thumbnails but nothing seems to work.

Try using the Ultimate TinyMce Plugin. It lets you customize the HTML and CSS of your site visually so you don’t need to learn code. Here is the link https://www.ads-software.com/extend/plugins/ultimate-tinymce/

It made the slider taller but now the pictures are cut off in a weird way.

Just go to appearance -> menus
Then from there you can customize your own menu and leave the “Home” page out of your navigation.

I guess when it all said in done everything is technically WordPress technology.

Okay. I was just wondering. And no, I never claimed that I fully developed a particular theme. Its just seems the lines are blurred. On one hand I made some changes to the css and the layout of the theme and the websites content. But one the other hand I did not fully create. Maybe I’m just making things complicated.People use frameworks like Twitter’s Bootstrap and Foundation as well and that not copyright infringement.

I just wanted to say thank you for this post. It helped a lot. Instead of adding connections=\”$connection\” to that line of code I only inserted
height=\”$height\”. For some reason when I added the connections part into the php file it just broke the widget.

Thank you so much! I figured it out. I used the Error Console tool and it gave me an error downloadable font failed. I clicked on the error and apparently I called the @fontface rule on the parent theme. Thus when I deleted it and called it on the child theme everything worked perfectly.
Thank you. Also can you tell me more about anymore debugging tools out there.

I added ‘woff’ file type in the Files Match but it doesn’t seem to be working. Thanks though.

Yeah, I’m still having trouble with this. I tried 5 different plugins and none of them seem to be working. Right now I’m using Ultimate SEO and my facebook thumbnails are not changing.
Any suggestions?
