  • Same issue:
“MailPoet Error: Unable to connect to the database (the database is unable to open a file or folder), the connection is likely not configured correctly”… would be beneficial or plugin author to add link to this thread to solution or join thread/re-open.

I wanted to update with my troubleshooting results in case there is a solution that is possible for the future or for other users with similar problem.

The issue is a related to the update from ver 2.5.26 (working version) and latest update 2.5.28.

Response from host regarding your explanation of possible server issues:

We tested this extensively, but we were not able to force the login form to appear.

The servers on our side are configured to run PHP 5.6 by default. You can switch to PHP 7.1 via the PHP Settings -> Default PHP interpreter section of the Control Panel.

We have created a file that outputs the current PHP configuration, exported by the phpinfo() command:

    https://www.ancramny.org/ztest.php

You can provide it to the developers of the plugin. We can confirm that iconv is enabled.

I can confirm that this issue occurs after update to latest ver as I rolled back to last working build of website from 11/27, painstakingly updated every plugin one at a time testing calendar plugin each time in between. Performed every test possible (PHP7, standard wp theme, all plugins disabled etc.) I’ve had to go ahead and completely re-create the calendar, widgets all events etc. with The Events Manager plugin and abandon this effort. I hope that there is some solution to this issue in the near future and I can be notified or that others that encounter this issue might offer a solution on this thread. Thank you.

There’s nothing on the “bottom of this page” indicating past versions or more important the update which changed to running certain add ons on external/your server – please tell me the previous version to that significant update. Thank you.

our default interpreter is php 5.6
This began after recent update. Can you please tell me a version of your plugin to roll back to (have roll back plugin) that may restore my ability to login in at events > settings. If successful I can then update the plugin after successful login.

Also please clarify what you mean by “in order for addons to work”… The site was setup, tested calendar plugin was working fine without any issue (was not signed into Timely account). The problem occurred last week, possibly after performing updates to core or plugins, I didn’t notice it until I went to add a new event and the date picker would not work, then discovered all else that doesn’t work including month view on front end (only agenda view). I did not have any addons installed, only the all in one calendar plugin.

    Thank you for your feedback.
Site is live www accessible url
    https://www.ancramny.org/

Can NOT sign in with my timely account at Dashboard > Events > Settings as I described, form will not show up, link to show form/disable gzip does nothing. My server does not user mod_gzip, uses mod_deflate:
    https://tickets.suresupport.com/faq/article-1424/en/using_mod_gzip
I have disabled all plugins which should have solved any conflicts. I am signed into Timely accounts with this plugin running successfully on multiple other websites using Genesis custom child theme and exact same plugins.

Is there no support instance of anyone having the missing login form at events > settings – I’ve been working on this for 2 days with no success. To disable Genesis and install a standard WP theme I would lose hours of work on custom sidebar widgets, there is no backup/export work around for that. If I can’t get resolve I’ll just be changing to a different calendar plugin. Any other advice or feedback?
