I had the columns set up. I was just wondering if the shortcode had the ability to define odd or even items.

As expressed by other commenters, this is a great plugin and I would happily pay for a full-featured version if you decided to go that way.

I found the answer on the theme forum.

For some reason when the theme is uploaded via ftp it’s prone to the error. But when it is zipped and uploaded through the dashboard, it fixes the problem.

That makes absolutely no sense to me but it worked so I’m not complaining.

No matter what the tutorial said, that code does not belong in the custom_functions.php file. You need to remove it and re-upload the file to your blog via ftp.

The code is meant for your post template file.
