What have you set your WordPress Address and Blog Address in the admin panel -> options -> general form to?

The whole thing looks to be at least partially a browser problem as the problems you describe happen to me too in Firefox 1.0 but not in the nightly build from yesterday.

First rename the wp-config-sample.php to wp-config.php. Then change these lines so that they fit to your MySQL account:

// ** MySQL settings ** //
define(‘DB_NAME’, ‘wordpress’); // The name of the database
define(‘DB_USER’, ‘username’); // Your MySQL username
define(‘DB_PASSWORD’, ‘password’); // …and password
define(‘DB_HOST’, ‘localhost’); // 99% chance you won’t need to change this value

@nuclearmoose: Thanks, but I was not really asking for assurances but more or less just probabilities ?? But I think I will give it a try this weekend or so. But first I want to write some small extensions for my current weblog ??

I will probably at least try to convert my current weblog into a wp1.5 this weekend (test system), but I have one question: Are the database changes now complete or are there some other changes to the database schemata planned before 1.5 will be released?

Me too. Nothing against backward compatibility but IMO this change shouldn’t really affect that much (only one = to add everytime you want to use a template function ?? ) and it has immense benefits for people who want to integrate their blog into other apps or things like that ??

For my taste a little bit too bright but apart from that it really looks great ??
