I’m afraid I already thought of that and updated all the stray http URLs in the database to https, and emptied caches afterwards to check. It didn’t make a difference to the plugin behaviour.

I’ve been turning on and off individual files asset optimisation and some across a number of plugins are failing to use https – it is by no means limited to Social Pug. It also affects the theme css, and some other plugins including one of the metaslider css files.

Oddly, a few files do work properly.

Some examples of incorrect ones are:

src:url(./socialpug.1.0.0.eot?#iefix)
background-image: url(‘img/select-arrows.png’);
background-image: url(‘../sliders/flexslider/bg_direction_nav.png’);
background-image: url(‘img/slide-arrow-right.png’) !important;
background-image: url(“img/slide-arrow-right.png”);

Yet one of the wordfence files and one of the slider css files are using https as expected:

The urls do switch to https with Really Simple SSL installed, but my client is hesitant to have yet another plugin running when the aim is to optimise her site rather than add more code. For now, we are choosing to have the misbehaving files turned off in asset optimisation instead.

As I already stated in my initial post, the urls are already both set to https.

We’ve had to disable completely now as it was also doing it with another file.

Thanks! I made a few settings tweaks and caching changes and hopefully it’s fixed the issue now.

admin-bar.min.css and dashicons.min.css were both in the exclude list

Inline and defer was on with the CriticalCSS analysis for her page a few months ago in there

That seemed to do the trick.

Managed to go straight to settings and disable the CSS before the whole site crashed again, and so far it has stayed up.

Yes it was. Those errors may have been after I renamed the whole folder however, to try to get the site to load (it wouldn’t until I deleted as well as renaming).

I think the errors that were preventing it from working when it was installed ‘fresh’ is this:

I’m having issues with this as well, I’ve tried deactivating and re-enabling the module, as well as checking the new tick box, and it still isn’t working, so I am having to convert my current posts in progress to html for now.

All of the previous posts using markdown seem to have been converted to html which is a problem as I have been using the {.rel-nofollow} attribute following links, and this hasn’t been converted properly. So now I have to search for this and manually change them all.

Hi, just wanted to report I am also having this issue. I updated to the latest version today and was still having it in Safari on my Mac. But, switching to Chrome and trying there worked so I was able to do it in the end.

Just wanted to chime in because I am having the same issue on a site and I think I have figured out what is causing an extra <p></p> to be outputted. The clients have requested the extra whitespace to be removed so I’m here looking for answers.

I’m having the problem using a two column layout, but like Pioneer’s example code above, I’m using the short code directly before a <h3> title – I think it is this that the code doesn’t like, as when I change that title to be normal text it works as expected. So it seems the issue comes from a shortcode being used directly before a heading title. Can this be addressed at all?

Users can also download my fixed version of Ultimate Nofollow. I’m trying to reach out the the plugin author to update the main plugin, or possibly take over development.

The folder name is different & the plugin name, so it won’t interfere with updates to Ultimate Nofollow from the original plugin author ??
