    Michael,

    Thanks very much for your further efforts to find a solution to this issue and also for reporting the issue to the Widget Options team.

    Sadly your latest recommendations do not provide a fix, so I now wonder whether it is my use of the Site Origin theme “Corps” and/or the Site Origin page builder that are creating the problem in combination with Widget Options.

    But since you have found a solution that works for your Advanced iFrame block, I can always recreate the two pages as Gutenberg pages instead of classic pages to provide a workaround.

    Thanks again for your help so far…

    Regards,

    Richard

    Michael,

    Sorry for delay in response to your helpful instructions – Forum notifications are still going to my spam folder despite my best efforts!

    I’ve now included the use_shortcode_attributes_only=”true”?in the short code without it making any difference.

    Here is the full set of defaults currently in use from the short code generator button:

    [advanced_iframe use_shortcode_attributes_only=”true” src=”//www.tinywebgallery.com/blog/advanced-iframe” width=”100%” height=”600″ multi_domain_enabled=”false”].

    I’m only using the free version of Widget Options – specifically version 4.0.6.1 (latest). The following features are enabled:

    Classic Widgets Screen, Gutenberg Page & Post Block Options* , Pages Visibility* , Devices Restriction, Custom Alignment, Hide Title, Classes & ID* , User Login State, Display Logic*. Within those only the asterisked options have configurable features – these are all unticked except the following:

    Page Visibility – all features ticked

    Classes & ID – only Enable ID Field ticked

    Hope this helps.

    Michael,

    Many thanks for your helpful and clear response that I’ve taken on board.

    Changing the option to remove the check has resolved the issue with Gutenberg block page(s) displaying iFrames.

    Sadly even this plus reducing the short code to the absolute minimum does not help the “classic” page (https://oldpharosians.org.uk/first-thursday/ and . This has the short code “[advanced_iframe src=”https://oldpharosians.org.uk/first-thursday/menu.html” width=”100%” height=”600″]”.

    Hope this helps your analysis..

    Regards

    Richard

    Yes, I can confirm that the suggested work-around is effective for me as well.

    Perhaps a sticky post at the top of the support page might be helpful while the proper fix is in the pipeline – if that is possible?

    I’m getting this problem, since the start of the month and I believe that the reason is a change at Google. To quote from this page:

    https://support.google.com/accounts/answer/6010255?hl=en#zippy=%2Cif-less-secure-app-access-is-off-for-your-account%2Cif-less-secure-app-access-is-on-for-your-account

    `To help keep your account secure, from May 30, 2022, ??Google no longer supports the use of third-party apps or devices which ask you to sign in to your Google Account using only your username and password.

    Important: This deadline does not apply to Google Workspace or Google Cloud Identity customers. The enforcement date for these customers will be announced on the Workspace blog at a later date.

    For more information, continue to read.`

    The setting to allow Less Secure Apps is no longer available, so Postie will no longer work as far as I can see until it is changed to operate in a different more secure way, i.e. no longer just relying on username/password.

    Thanks but I’m surprised that you say this is impossible – help me try to explain the problem again which is caused by using the “last week” setting.
    I have an event that happens in January on the 23rd – the fourth Sunday. A similar event occurs on Sunday January 30th the 5th Sunday with the same organiser but at a different location.
    In February the first event should repeat on 27 February but the second should not appear, since there are only four Sundays in February.
    By using “last Sunday” for the second event both events appear on the calendar on 27 February, showing the same organiser being in two places at the same time.

    How do I stop this second event from appearing when it should not?

    Richard

    Andrew,

    That modal mode seems to have disappeared from UberMenu in version 3.5 – I would attach a screenshot but don’t seem to have an option to do this.

    But your code once again does the trick and stops the logo from reverting to full size – which is excellent.

    Thanks yet again for your service – well above and beyond what I would expect from a free theme.

    Andrew,

    Brilliant thanks – this latest CSS code does indeed prevent the logo from dropping down with the menu. (I couldn’t find any option for setting the menu display to modal in the latest version of UberMenu 3.)

    The only (minor) issue now is that the log expands when the hamburger menu appears, (i.e. in tablet and mobile mode) from the smaller size that appears on desktop.

    Perhaps this will be fixed in the Corp update.

    Thanks again for your persistence.

    Andrew,

    Yes, your suggested code has enabled the menu to drop down but now I see what you mean about the logo dropping down with it – I’m investigating this.

    But it’s fair to say that while the look is unappealing, from a functional perspective the menu is quite usable even on mobile phones – so thanks again for your efforts to date.

    Andrew,

    Great – thanks for the suggestion – I’ll give that a whirl tomorrow and let you know…

    Andrew,

    Sorry for the delay in response but I’ve not been idle and have made a number of observations of behaviour via the new Trouble Shooting mode on WordPress.

    No matter which plug-ins I disable (including with none enabled) I cannot get the mobile menu to expand in “phone” mode – tablet mode remains fine.

    But I’ve realised that saying the menu does not work is not precisely what is happening – a thick black line below blue menu button does appear when the toggle is clicked but no menu items are listed below. So the button is responding but just not displaying the menu items.

    I’ve also found that by switching on the default Twenty Twenty theme the menu does expand in mobile mode, although the Ubermenu “dynamic” items do not appear.

    Richard

    Andrew,
    On further inspection I now find that the menu is fine on tablets and not only appears but expands as necessary, but on mobile phones while present the hamburger menu will not expand.
    Any ideas?

    Andrews,
    Many thanks for another quick and helpful response. I’ve been delayed in replying due to paying attention to the Prime Minister’s Covid broadcast!
    I’ve found and commented out the code that you refer to and this has certainly fixed the problem with the mobile menu.
    I’m uncertain now precisely what that section of code was originally intended to achieve but the page looks OK to me now!
    Thanks again,
    Richard

    Andrew,
    Thanks for your amazingly rapid response.
    My Site Origin Custom CSS was as follows:
    "/* Move menu below the masthead on all pages
    * https://siteorigin.com/thread/how-to-move-menu-to-the-bottom-of-header-in-vantage/
    */
    #site-navigation {
    padding-top: 10px;
    }
    .main-navigation ul ul {
    padding-top: 15px;
    }"

    This code has been in place since 2019 during most of which time the hamburger menu has worked fine but any way I’ve removed this and purged the cache but to no avail – any more suggestions?

    Richard

    Nathaniel,
    Thanks again – I’m not sure where you are working from but it’s late in the evening in the UK so I’ll be leaving this with you overnight.

    I’m guessing that as I don’t have a login, I’ll have to receive your responses via this forum.

    I’ll be back again in around 10 hours…

    Regards,
    Richard
