In reply to: Finding Pages to Edit for Sections (Newbie Question)Thank you. I’ve tried those sources without luck, which is why I came here. The docs are not clear and many of the screenshots and videos are heavily outdated. I was hoping there was a way to detect what to change where, for example via the Inspect or View Page source feature in Chrome etc.
Thanks for your response.

In reply to: [Twenty Seventeen] Are the images being scaled? or Crunched?Andrew:
My originals are pretty hi res, so I could try 4000x2400px.
I’ll definitely look into it.
Thanks for all your help.

In reply to: [Twenty Seventeen] Are the images being scaled? or Crunched?Andrew:
Ok. So this looks like a browser issue.
If I have the browser window stretched out (using the lower right corner) the image on the website continues to keep getting zoomed in (past 100%) to fit the browser window. And so it looks pixelated.
If I make the browser window smaller to around 2000px, the image gets better.
I have a large computer screen and more than likely my browser windows default to a larger resolution than 2000px.
So I have two choicse:
? Add some code to force all browsers to 2000px (I am not even sure this is correct)
? Just live with it.Thanks a lot.

Thanks for your help. Really appreciate you taking the time.
It makes perfect sense as you explain it.
But I’m still not sure I understand, why on my browser the images look slightly pixelated?
Should it not be showing me the full res 2000px wide one? And without any upscaling? The image literally looks bigger (zoomed in) within the theme. (But looks just right in your link.)
The one you linked (the first on your list) looks far superior in my browser as opposed to when I am seeing the same image on my browser *inside* of the theme. Why is the same image 2000px being scaled up inside of the theme just to show it on my browser?
Or is it because my computer screen res is set to 2560×1600 that it looks crunched? But if it was my screen res, then why does your linked image looks better?
I feel like I am talking in circles. Sorry!

Thanks for your response.
You can see it here: https://www.zedsaeedphoto.com/
The default header image is *not* showing that darkening effect, because of the lines of code I inserted. (See my original post.) But the rest of the featured images show the effect as you scroll past them.
The effect is most visible on the large b/w images.
I am surprised that this is not a known or discussed issue, since it seems to be the default behavior in the Twenty Seventeen theme.
Thanks for your help.
