I can help you at least with your drop cap issue:

You can activate the drop cap feature in the theme.json. Go to line 171 and replace false with true.

I have now uninstalled my child theme for the 100th time, deleted the functions.php and recreated it (with the same code as before) and then reinstalled the theme. Suddenly the error was gone. I have no idea why.

yes, I’m using the latest version of twenty twenty-two.

Thanks for your code. I don’t notice any significant differences to my files at first glance. Nevertheless I have created a completely new child theme to test your code. So I have installed a completely new child theme and used only your two files and didn’t change anything. But it didn’t work. The issue occurs too.

I just don’t get it! I am at a loss.

That’s really strange. My css is named style.css too, but it doesn’t matter if I use “child-style” or “style”, the issue is still there.
