@speedrider Can you try to firstly reset Site Kit (Site Kit > Settings > Admin Settings > Reset Site Kit) before then deleting the plugin in full. After doing so please install and setup once more, using a Chrome browser incognito window.
If the issue remains please inform me of the following:
– Your Site Health information
– Your current web hosting providerYou can also keep track of the following GitHub issue, which seems similar to the issue you are encountering.

I had this problem with authentication and it was solved after I unchecked Filter long URL’s from Ithemes security plugin
I had a similar issue with / callback…
I have tried the solution above which seems to have worked for now.
Disabling the “Filter long URL’s” from “Ithemes security plugin”.
Certainly hope I do not need to disable any other features!@speedrider We may need to perform additional troubleshooting steps if your site is continuously asked to reauthenticate.
Can you inform me of the following:
– Do you have any other WordPress sites on the same hosting platform which you can cheek setup from?
– Can you share your site address details? You’ve already mentioned your “Blog” address is speedrider.org/blog, I assume that’s your “WordPress Address (URL)”?Yes, speedrider.org/blog is my WordPress Address.
My site URL is speedrider.org.
Previously I have 2 more wordpress in different folder but only in speedrider.org/blog remains for now.
@speedrider thanks for the info. Quick question did you recently move your WordPress install to the
/blog
directory? Were you using Site Kit at that time?@reneesoffice its my default directory when setting up my wordpress years ago.
I just installed Site Kit recently (new user).
Thanks for the info @speedrider. To confirm, are you getting this error when trying to connect:
Issue accessing data You need to reauthenticate your Google account.
There is a screenshot of what it would look like in this issue.
@speedrider we’ve just released version 1.4.0, could you update and let us know if the issue still persists for you? thank you
It looks like it still the same.
1. I reset Google Site Kit
2. Open Incognito Window and start installing from fresh
3. Verification Success
4. When clicking Go To My Dashboard, it all started again@athenaid Thanks for the update. Would you be able to temporarily deactivate some plugins, even one by one before testing setup once more? While it’s not ideal you have a large number of plugins active, one – or a combination of which could be impacting setup.
Alternatively you can check Site Kit setup with one of the other WordPress sites you mentioned you have in another directory.
@speedrider it looks like you may have not been notified of the inquiry above.
If you’re able to make these checks that would be helpful to rule out possible causes.Additionally, I noticed you mentioned your site started with
https://
but it is currently athttps://
did you change this at some point while trying to setup Site Kit? Thanks for your feedback as we work to get this resolved.@reneesoffice Yes I did installed a plug in to get my site more secure to make it as https://. However, I cant change my site/wordpress URL in the setting as https since the plug in will do its job.
@speedrider thanks so much for this additional information. You may be experiencing this issue:
https://github.com/google/site-kit-wp/issues/1034
It happens because Site Kit initially registers and retains your domain at the first attempt, so updates to the domain after are not recognized. This is a priority fix that we’re planning for this week. I’ll keep you updated when it is available to ensure you can get through the setup. Thanks again for the info and your patience as we get this resolved.
