I’d like to set the email follow icon to my own provider. I have a url for that, that is working fine on another “join mailing list” button on the home page, but the button on Ultimate Social Media Icons links to specific. It seems this is the default provider here, and might be managed by editing this plugin, which I have set to display in the footer on every page. I’d like all the email links to go to my own signup page. How can I edit the linked url for email?

    Website is https://readsweethealing.com/

    Thanks

“For that we suggest you upload a custom email icon and then link it to your provider’s page.”

    Thanks for the quick reply!

I don’t understand this. I checked the resources. Are you saying there is a way to upload a custom icon which will display as integral to the array of social icons associated with the plugin? Can it display in the same position and context as your default icon? How do I do this? Is there a way to use an instance of your existing icon for this purpose?

I’m not seeing what is meant, unless you are just saying add my own button somewhere else entirely. Thanks!

You can upload custom icons under question 1. Please upload an email-icon as custom icon (e.g. you can save the image of the email icon we provide, and then upload it as custom icon), and then link it anywhere you want.

    Thanks again.

Sorry, this is still unclear to me. Is it possible to integrate this with the plugin? Yes or no.

When you say to “upload the icon” is this a feature of the plugin, or are you saying to configure an icon and insert it in the page somewhere other than as a part of the plugin social array?

The answer is “yes”. As I say above: “You can upload custom icons under question 1”

question 1 where? On the FAQ page? There are no instructions there, except for managing widget label. If there is an instruction for uploading you are trying to point me to, can you please paste it here? Thanks.

Question 1 in the plugin, where you can make the selections, on your WordPress dashboard. Please let me know if you find it.

That’s sad. Sorry, but I have to post this here to save others the confusion, and resolve the topic. Upon tinkering, all I can come up with is: the answer is “no”, this function of integrating your own email provider collection link into the plugin email button is not possible.

This seems for economic reasons, which is understandable. It’s a very good plugin in every other way.

I just don’t see why folks always seem to feel the need to be dodgy and obfuscating about these things. It’s just the way the thing works.

If this isn’t accurate, please correct me here. Thanks again.

It’s not accurate. You can upload a custom icon easily under question 1, and then link it to any page you want (e.g. the page where users can sign up to your newsletter provider).

Did you see how you can upload custom icons under question 1?

Ok, I see what you mean now. I inserted the button image, but I don’t see where to insert the link. The link field in the dialog refers to the actual button image location.

I thought I got it: add button image to media library, copy location link, switch to “from url” tab, then add button image location and linked url. Button appears, but link isn’t working yet.

Did you enter the url under question 2? Did you include the https://?
