    Hi,

Trying to run the plugin and keep getting this message.

    Erreur !: SQLSTATE[42000] [1044] Access denied for user ‘weddingb_alison’@’localhost’ to database ‘weddingb_jo151’

I’ve treid checking through old posts but can’t find a resolution.

WordPress is installed on the same server as the joomla database, but a different directory. I’m using:

    URL: https://localhost

    Joomla version: 1.5

    Hostname: localhost
    Port: 3306
    Database: weddingb_jo151
    Username: weddingb_alison
    Joomla table prefix: jos_

I’ve also tried it with username: root and blank password with the same result.

I’m not very technical so if I need to give database permissions, some indication of how to do this through cpanel would be very helpful.

    Thanks

In “hostname”, you need to enter the name of the server where the Joomla database is located. You can find it in the Joomla configuration.php on the line “$host”.
Moreover, in the URL field, you need to enter the URL of the Joomla home page. If you put https://localhost, it means that your Joomla site is on your local computer. Is it the case?

    Thanks for your prompt reply.

The value of $host in configuration.php is showing as localhost

It’s not on my local computer so I tried again putting the full website url (incl https://) but I’m still getting the same error.

Hi i am also getting the same error!

Erreur !: SQLSTATE[28000] [1045] Access denied for user ”joomlasite’@’xxx.xx.xxx.x’ (using password: YES)

My joomla1.5 website and my worpress site are on different web servers.

If that is the case.Is it possible for me to import data from joomla1.5 to wordpress3.4.2

The solution is to export your Joomla database with phpMyadmin to a SQL file.
Thus to import this SQL file to your WordPress database with phpMyadmin too.
And you will be able to use the plugin to do the conversion.
